Siren’s Curse is Cedar Point’s tilt roller coaster, where a train pauses at a broken track edge before the track pivots it into a vertical, face-down position and aligns it with the steep drop below. Cedar Point announced the ride for 2025 and called it North America’s tallest, fastest, and longest tilt coaster; those superlatives are the park’s claim, not an independently audited record.
How Siren’s Curse’s tilt track works
The ride’s defining moment begins when the train reaches a section that appears to end abruptly. Rather than immediately taking a conventional drop, the train stops while the track itself tilts, rotating the train into a 90-degree vertical position. Once the tilting section locks into alignment with the downhill track, the train descends.
Cedar Point’s announcement described the effect this way: “The track will slowly tilt the entire train into a 90-degree vertical position, forcing riders to peer straight down with the hope their train will connect to the twisted track below.” The suspense comes from the pause and the changing track angle, not simply from the height of the drop.

Cedar Point presented the height, speed, and track length as the basis for its “tallest, fastest and longest” North American tilt-coaster claim. The claim is specific to North America and should not be read as a worldwide ranking.
The Lake Erie siren theme
The attraction’s story draws on a Lake Erie siren legend and the image of an old shipping-crane tower. That setting gives the broken-off track and sudden tilt a narrative frame: riders are pulled toward a drop associated with the siren’s lure. Cedar Point described the ride as a two-minute experience, but its announcement does not establish an independently timed ride duration.
