Trent Beretta is professional wrestler Gregory Marasciulo, whose career has crossed independent wrestling, WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Ring of Honor (ROH) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The spelling of his ring name changed over time, and his best-known teams belong to distinct chapters: Roppongi Vice with Rocky Romero in NJPW and Best Friends with Chuck Taylor in AEW.
1. Trent Beretta is Gregory Marasciulo
Trent Beretta is a ring name used by Gregory Marasciulo. His career history records several names across different stages, including Plazma, Greg Jackson, Trent Barreta, Beretta and Trent Beretta. These are not interchangeable labels for one fixed era: the spelling and name used depend on the point in his career and the promotion.
2. His billed hometown is Long Island, New York
AEW’s official profile lists his billed location as “Long Island, NY” and styles his current ring name as Trent Beretta. The profile’s biography fields are blank, so it does not substantiate other biographical or career claims.
3. His recorded career began on the independent scene
A secondary career chronology records Marasciulo’s professional debut in 2004 for New York Wrestling Connection, wrestling as Plazma. It is a useful starting point for tracing his career, but the available account is secondary rather than a promotion archive.

4. WWE used the spelling Trent Barreta
In WWE’s developmental system and main-roster period, Marasciulo was known as Greg Jackson and then Trent Barreta. The “Barreta” spelling is associated with that WWE-era name; AEW’s current profile uses “Beretta.”
5. NJPW gave Beretta a major international chapter
Marasciulo competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as Beretta. His work there included singles competition as well as a prominent junior tag-team run. That NJPW chapter should be kept distinct from his later AEW identity and partnerships.

6. Roppongi Vice won four junior tag title reigns
Beretta teamed with Rocky Romero as Roppongi Vice. The team won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship four times between 2015 and 2017, according to the team’s title-history summary. They also won NJPW’s 2016 Super Jr. Tag Tournament.
7. He moved toward NJPW’s heavyweight division with Romero’s blessing
After their junior-tag run, Romero gave Beretta his blessing to move into NJPW’s heavyweight division, as recorded in the career chronology. The transition is a reminder that the Roppongi Vice accomplishments describe one part of Beretta’s NJPW career, not the whole of it.

8. Best Friends became a defining AEW partnership
Beretta’s AEW connection with Chuck Taylor began in 2019, when the two became known as Best Friends. Orange Cassidy later joined their on-screen orbit. This was a separate team and storyline chapter from Roppongi Vice’s work in NJPW.
9. His team identity has changed over time
Beretta’s career includes multiple partnerships and presentation changes rather than one continuous faction identity. His Best Friends period is documented in the career history, while later match listings also include appearances under RPG Vice. Those records show that team names and affiliations vary by period; they should not be treated as simultaneous or permanent.

10. Match records show activity through 2026, but not a complete current-status picture
Online World of Wrestling (OWW) lists AEW and ROH match entries from 2026 and marks its profile updated August 7, 2026. That dated third-party database is evidence of recorded match activity through that point. It does not, by itself, establish Beretta’s present contract, faction alignment, or next scheduled appearance.
