These ten adult actors have appeared in films with reported full-frontal nudity, but a scene is not proof that someone is generally comfortable with nudity or would choose it again. In the best-documented cases, performers and directors describe specific story reasons; other examples are identified more cautiously from a roundup. Prosthetics can also make a visible scene different from what viewers might assume about an actor’s body.
What “full frontal” means in this list
Here, “full frontal” refers to a scene reported as showing an actor nude from the front. The evidence is not equally detailed for every film: some entries draw on an actor’s or director’s account, while others are included because Out identifies the film as a full-frontal example. The list is not a ranking of courage or exposure, and it does not imply that every scene shows the performer’s own anatomy.
Actors who discussed the scene’s purpose or choice
1. Jack Reynor in Midsommar (2019)
Reynor’s nude sequence in Ari Aster’s horror film is the clearest example here of an actor explaining his own thinking. He said he wanted the scene’s humiliating fate for his character to register plainly, telling TheWrap, “And it’s very expositional… and that’s why I wanted to make sure there was as much full frontal as we could go for.” His comment describes a choice for this sequence, not a general statement about his comfort with nudity. TheWrap’s interview with Jack Reynor
2. Viggo Mortensen in Eastern Promises (2007)
The film’s steam-bath fight places Mortensen’s character in a physically exposed and dangerous situation. Director David Cronenberg recalled Mortensen’s response to the scene: “He said, ‘I have to do it naked.’” Cronenberg’s account frames the nudity as part of the sequence’s vulnerability and staging, rather than a separate display. 3. Peter Sarsgaard in Kinsey (2004)
Sarsgaard described the nudity in the film’s intimate scene as serving his character’s interaction with Dr. Kinsey, rather than as an appeal to the audience. “It’s not nudity for you guys, it’s nudity for him,” he told TV Guide. That explanation is specific to the scene and does not establish that he never felt nervous about performing nude. TV Guide’s interview with Peter Sarsgaard
4. Jude Law in Eden (2024/2025 release)
Director Ron Howard said Law’s nude scene was in the script and that the actor embraced the idea. Howard connected the scene to accounts of the real-life characters as nudists. His remarks appeared in an interview published August 22, 2025, which described the film as then playing in theaters; that release context should not be taken as a statement about its current availability. Out’s roundup identifies the following performers and films. It offers less direct information about the actors’ motivations, so these entries are limited to the reported screen examples rather than speculation about how the performers felt.
5. Charles Melton in May December (2023)
Out identifies a scene in which Melton appears nude in Todd Haynes’s drama. The roundup does not establish a personal reason for Melton’s participation, so the scene should not be read as evidence of a broader attitude toward nudity. Out’s roundup of male actors’ full-frontal scenes

10. Jason Schwartzman in The Overnight (2015)
The comedy’s full-frontal scene has an important qualification: Vanity Fair reports that Schwartzman and co-star Adam Scott wore prosthetic penises. A scene can therefore appear full frontal without showing an actor’s own anatomy. Vanity Fair’s interview with Jason Schwartzman about The Overnight

Nudity in a finished film does not, by itself, reveal how boundaries were discussed or what was agreed on set. Council of Europe-hosted Finnish guidance recommends that actors and producers discuss intimate-scene content, choreography, modesty garments, boundaries, and a way to stop a scene in advance; it also recommends documenting relevant requirements in contracts. This is guidance from a Finnish context, not a universal legal rule and not evidence of the process used for any film listed above. Finnish guidelines for doing intimate scenes
