Winter 2025 has passed. Crunchyroll’s historical seasonal lineup confirms five returning or continuing anime among its offerings, but the available schedule evidence does not establish a complete list of ten or an objective “best” ranking. This retrospective covers those five verified titles and distinguishes announced dates and platforms from broader availability claims.
What anime returned in Winter 2025?
Crunchyroll’s lineup, published December 13, 2024 and updated in January 2025, included the five shows below in its broader slate. It describes Crunchyroll’s offerings, not every anime airing worldwide. The picks are curated for a mix of genres, ongoing stories and clearly identified season or part labels—not presented as a measured quality ranking. See Crunchyroll’s Winter 2025 lineup.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which anime premiered in January 2025?
The evidence gives different levels of schedule detail. Aniplex placed Solo Leveling Season 2 in January without naming a day; Crunchyroll gave Hanako-kun a January 12 premiere at 2:00 a.m. PT for its listed territories. Ishura Season 2 also began Japanese broadcast in January, but it is not among the five titles confirmed on Crunchyroll’s lineup list above.
The official Ishura series page lists Japanese broadcasts beginning January 8, 2025, with times varying by station and a notice that dates and times may change. It names Disney+ Star and several Japan-specific services in its distribution section. Those details concern Japan and do not establish rights in other markets or current availability. Check Ishura’s official broadcast and distribution information.

Why this is not a definitive top ten
The source material verifies five candidates, not ten, and supplies no comparative ratings, audience figures or critical scores. Adding five more titles to satisfy the headline would mean presenting unsupported selections as verified facts. “Best” here is therefore a narrow editorial label: these are varied, continuing series identified in a platform’s Winter 2025 slate, not a consensus ranking or complete seasonal census.
Streaming catalogs and rights change over time. A historical lineup or premiere announcement tells readers what was scheduled or listed then; it should not be read as confirmation that a season remains available on the same service today.
