Dan Da Dan topped Anime Corner’s 2024 Best Animation audience poll, with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War close behind. This ranking uses that poll as its starting point, then adds two clearly marked editorial picks: the poll’s published results list only eight titles. Poll position reflects audience preference, not a technical score or a consensus among critics and animators.
How this ranking was chosen
Anime Corner says 21,374 people voted in its 2024 Best Animation category, reported on its 2025 year-end results page. Its percentages are shares of that poll, not measurements of frame quality, consistency, or production craft. The top eight below follow its order.

For the final two places, the list makes editorial selections rather than suggesting they appeared in that poll’s reported top eight. The comparison considers character acting and motion, action choreography, visual consistency, compositing and effects, and how direction uses movement and staging. These are judgment criteria for this list; they were not dimensions measured by the poll. A striking peak sequence and steady episode-to-episode execution are both relevant, but they are not the same thing.
The 10 anime, ranked
1. Dan Da Dan — 18.91% of Anime Corner’s poll
Anime Corner’s voters put Dan Da Dan first. Science SARU is listed as its studio on the poll’s nominee page. Its top position is the clearest audience result in this group, though the percentage is a vote share rather than a technical rating.

2. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End — 18.16%
Frieren finished less than a percentage point behind the leader, making the top two a close audience contest. Madhouse is listed as the studio. The narrow gap is a useful reminder that the poll’s ordering does not imply a decisive quality difference.
3. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War — 16.24%
The third-place result keeps Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War in the poll’s leading group. Studio Pierrot is listed as its studio. Its result is still a preference share, not evidence that it ranked third on every animation measure.
Rank #2
4. Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc — 13.71%
Anime Corner placed the Hashira Training Arc fourth. The nominee information cited for this ranking does not provide a studio attribution for this entry, so none is assigned here.
5. Solo Leveling — 10.88%
Solo Leveling took fifth place in the poll. A-1 Pictures is listed as its studio.

Rank #4
8. Wistoria: Wand and Sword — 5.03%
Wistoria: Wand and Sword completes the eight titles reported in Anime Corner’s category results. The nominee page lists Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures as its studios.
9. Look Back — editorial pick, not a reported top-eight poll result
This film is included as an editorial addition, not as a poll placement. Its place in the list reflects the same broad criteria used for the series above, with emphasis on drawn movement, character acting, and visual direction. It is not assigned a poll percentage.

- Kaneda is a bike gang leader whose close friend Tetsuo gets involved in a government secret project known as Akira. On his way to save Tetsuo, Kaneda runs into a group of anti-government activists, greedy politicians, irresponsible scientists and a powerful military leader. The confrontation sparks off Tetsuo's supernatural power leading to bloody death, a coup attempt and the final battle in Toky
10. The Colors Within — editorial pick, not a reported top-eight poll result
This film is the second editorial addition beyond the poll’s published eight. It is included as a contrasting feature-length selection, judged by the list’s movement, staging, and visual-coherence criteria; it has no placement or percentage in the cited poll results.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the ranking can—and cannot—tell you
The first eight positions answer a narrow question: how Anime Corner’s 21,374 voters divided their choices in its 2024 Best Animation category. They do not establish a universal or technical hierarchy. Studios provide production context, but a studio credit by itself does not prove that one show is better animated than another.
Other awards should not be treated as a substitute animation ranking. Anime Trending’s 10th Trending Awards page reports 60,443 total votes and names Tengoku-Daimakyo as its Anime of the Year result; that is a different category, not a measure of animation quality. The additional two titles here are editorial choices, kept separate from the poll rather than presented as its ninth and tenth finishers.
