Nolan North’s optimistic comments did not confirm Young Justice Season 5. In an interview covered on January 21, 2024, the voice of Superboy said he did not know whether another season would happen and described the show as “not canceled” but “not picked up yet.” No Season 5 renewal is verified in the sources reviewed here, and that is not the same as a formal cancellation.
What Nolan North said about Season 5
North discussed the series while promoting Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths. As reported by Superman Homepage on January 21, 2024, he said he was not “privy” to whether another season would happen and did not think there were plans at that time. He also said: “But we always say we’re not canceled, we just haven’t been picked up yet.”

That was North describing his understanding, not announcing a decision by Warner Bros., DC, or Max. His hope that the series might continue is an actor’s optimism, not evidence that a fifth season had been ordered.
Is Young Justice Season 5 happening?
No official Season 5 renewal is established by the available sources. A March 12, 2026 report from The Direct said there had been no official update since the series wrapped in 2022. That is secondary reporting; it is not a statement from the rights holder or streaming platform.

DC’s official catalog entry for Young Justice lists the series as running from 2010 to 2022 and names Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti among its executive producers. The page does not announce a fifth season. Taken together, these sources support a careful answer: a renewal has not been verified, but they do not establish that the show was formally canceled.
Why “not canceled” does not mean renewed
A show can be neither formally canceled nor renewed. North’s phrase “not picked up yet” signals that, in his understanding at the time, a new season had not been commissioned. It does not resolve whether a later decision would be made. A confirmed Season 5 would require an official renewal or commissioning announcement; no such announcement appears in the sources cited here.

What about the creators’ reported comments?
A fan-posted transcription of a 2025 San Diego Comic-Con exchange attributes comments about future story material and fan support to Greg Weisman. Because the transcription has not been independently authenticated, it should not be treated as a definitive creator statement or as evidence of a renewal. Even a creator’s interest or plans for possible stories would be different from an official order for another season.

DC’s catalog dates Young Justice to 2010–2022. North’s January 2024 remarks offered hope while making clear that he did not know whether the show would return. The later report cited above still described no official update. Until DC, Warner Bros., or the platform announces a decision, Season 5 remains unconfirmed—not confirmed and not proven formally canceled.
