The first celebrity guests to join Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY’s fourth hour after Hoda Kotb left were Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria and Keke Palmer. Bush Hager announced the trio on January 6, 2025. Henson was scheduled to appear first, on January 13, with Longoria and Palmer later that week.
Who were Jenna Bush Hager’s first guest co-hosts?
The January 6 announcement named Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria and Keke Palmer as the first group of celebrity guest co-hosts for the fourth hour, then branded TODAY with Jenna & Friends. Henson was set to join Bush Hager on January 13, 2025; Longoria and Palmer were scheduled later that week. Bush Hager described the new stretch as “our month of wonder women,” according to TV Insider’s report on the announcement.
Scarlett Johansson was announced next
Scarlett Johansson was due to join beginning the week of January 21, 2025. The guests did not all have the same stint: contemporaneous coverage said some appeared for a week and others for a day or two.
Which role was the celebrity rotation replacing?
“Replacing Hoda” referred to Kotb’s fourth-hour co-host seat beside Bush Hager, not to her role alongside Savannah Guthrie in the first two hours. Kotb announced in September 2024 that she planned to leave TODAY in early 2025. NBC handled the two roles separately: Craig Melvin was named Guthrie’s new co-anchor for the first two hours, while Bush Hager hosted a rotating roster of guests in the fourth hour as the program considered a permanent co-host. The Associated Press account of Kotb’s departure describes her two positions.

Who hosts TODAY’s 10 a.m. hour now?
The January 2025 guest rotation is not the current arrangement listed by TODAY. The show’s about page, updated September 2, 2026, identifies the 10 a.m. program as TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, co-hosted by Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones. That current listing is distinct from the original TODAY with Jenna & Friends announcement.
