Those are not the same thing. This list separates documented estate provisions from public intentions—and flags three names in the original ten-person list for which the available reporting does not establish the claim.
What “disinherited” means in these cases
A will can explicitly exclude a child, while a public comment about not leaving an inheritance describes an intention, not a completed distribution or necessarily the terms of a final will. A contested will adds another distinct issue: a family’s allegation about how an estate plan was made does not establish that allegation as fact.
The names below come from a 2026 list of ten celebrities, but the evidence is uneven. The documented will provisions and attributed public statements are presented separately from claims that remain unresolved in the sources available here.
Reported will provisions
Tony Curtis
Legal commentary describes Curtis’s will as acknowledging his children and intentionally choosing not to provide for them. His children later alleged undue influence while challenging the estate plan, according to Forbes. That allegation is separate from the reported terms of the will; it is not proof that undue influence occurred.

Jerry Lewis
Forbes reproduces will language expressly excluding six sons from Lewis’s first marriage and their descendants as beneficiaries. The will states: “I have intentionally excluded GARY LEWIS, RONALD LEWIS, ANTHONY JOSEPH LEWIS, CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH LEWIS, SCOTT ANTHONY LEWIS and JOSEPH CHRISTOPHER LEWIS and their descendants as beneficiaries of my estate, it being my intention to that they shall receive no benefits hereunder.” The wording documents the exclusion; it does not establish a motive. Philip Seymour Hoffman
Hoffman’s 2004 will left the residuary estate to Mimi O’Donnell. A Los Angeles Times report on court filings attributed to Hoffman a wish not to make his children “trust fund kids.” But the timing matters: the American Bar Association notes that at least one of his children was born after the will was made. The will’s terms therefore should not be simplified into a claim that he deliberately cut all three children out. Los Angeles Times and ABA reporting.

Joan Crawford
An online reproduction of Crawford’s will contains an exclusion clause for two children. A later archive account reports that the will was challenged and the dispute settled. The reproduced text is evidence of the clause; the account of what followed is secondary reporting, not a substitute for the settlement’s terms. Will text and later account.
Publicly stated plans, not completed disinheritances
Jackie Chan
The 2026 listicle reports Chan’s position on leaving his wealth to his son, but the sources reviewed do not establish a completed estate distribution or confirm that a final will contains that provision. Treat it as a reported view about inheritance, not as proof that he has already disinherited a child. The listicle’s account.

The listicle likewise presents Craig as not intending to leave his children a conventional inheritance. That is a reported future intention, not evidence of a completed distribution or the final terms of a will. The listicle’s account.
Sting
The Los Angeles Times reported Sting’s phrase “albatrosses ‘round their necks” in the context of trust funds and inheritance. It reflects a publicly attributed view, not confirmation of a finalized will or an estate outcome. Los Angeles Times.

Mickey Rooney
The matching listicle makes a claim about Rooney’s estate outcome, but the sources reviewed do not provide sufficiently authoritative, directly relevant documentation to establish that he disinherited his children. The claim should not be treated as confirmed here.

The listicle also makes a claim about Douglas’s estate. The available sources reviewed do not establish the relevant will terms or outcome with enough direct documentation to present it as fact.
