Yes. Marissa Bode said she fell backward from her wheelchair during one take of “Dancing Through Life,” the Wicked number filmed with Ethan Slater. The available report does not say whether she was injured or received medical treatment, so neither should be assumed.
What happened during filming?
Entertainment Weekly reported that Bode described falling backward during one of the takes for “Dancing Through Life.” Her brief account was: “I did fall backward one of the times.” The scene features Bode as Nessarose and Slater as Boq. Entertainment Weekly report syndicated by Yahoo Entertainment
The report excerpt does not establish the circumstances of the fall beyond that description. It does not say whether Bode was injured, treated, or required a change to the scene afterward.
How was the dance number developed?
The Los Angeles Times describes the scene as a duet shaped around connection and movement. Choreographer Christopher Scott worked with wheelchair choreographer and dancer Hannah Raynor, while Bode and Slater rehearsed for several weeks. Bode explained that wheelchair users have different ranges of motion, so the team worked through the choreography step by step rather than assuming one approach would suit everyone. Los Angeles Times

How did the production address access and representation?
Bode plays Nessarose and uses a wheelchair in real life. Her casting was described by the Los Angeles Times and Wisconsin Public Radio as the first time an actor who uses a wheelchair in real life played Nessarose. The film’s creative team consulted wheelchair users, and Bode contributed to the character’s wheelchair design, including its movement and fit. Wisconsin Public Radio Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Times also reported that access coordinator Chantelle Nassari provided an accessible trailer, checked pathways, and helped ensure Bode had what she needed to work. These measures form production context; the available incident report does not say that any access measure caused or prevented the fall. Los Angeles Times

Bode has spoken about why authentic casting matters to her: “I love seeing disabled characters be played authentically by real disabled people, because no one knows us better than us.” She also emphasized that wheelchair users’ movement is not uniform, describing the choreography process as working “move by move” with Raynor.
