FOX announced him as one of 18 participants on August 6, 2025; the season premiered September 25, 2025. Brown later described the experience as mentally taxing and said he injured his hamstring during training. His account offers a glimpse of what the show meant to him, but it does not establish that the appearance changed viewers’ opinions or repaired family relationships.
When was Kody Brown on Special Forces?
FOX named Brown among the 18 recruits for season four in its August 6, 2025 casting announcement. The season premiered on FOX on September 25, 2025. FOX’s announcement listed next-day Hulu viewing at the time.
Brown’s appearance should not be confused with a new casting for season five. FOX announced a different cast for the fifth season in July 2026, which premiered September 24, 2026. FOX’s series page lists available season-five episodes on FOX One. Streaming availability can change, so check the platform for current access to season four.
What did season four ask recruits to do?
FOX described the series as a celebrity training experiment inspired by the real Special Forces selection process. Season four was filmed in Morocco and featured tasks themed around urban warfare. It was not a conventional competition in which contestants voted each other out.

What did Brown say about the training?
In a November 18, 2025 interview with FOX 5 New York, Brown discussed the season-four finale and his experience on the show. He recalled, “I tore my hamstring on day three,” and said the ordeal was “way more mentally taxing” than he expected. He also said he began to fade around day five or six and was irritating his fellow recruits. Those are Brown’s recollections as reported in the interview.
What did he say about his family?
Brown also spoke about regret and strained family relationships. As FOX 5 reported, he said, “I had 18 kids with four wives,” and, “There’s been three divorces, and I would never do it again. I’d never marry again.” The outlet reported that he said communication with some of his children had stopped.

Brown described his own shortcomings, saying, “My failures were because I didn’t know about being your dad and husband… I did it wrong in so many ways, and I hated being blamed for it.” In the same interview, he qualified his account by saying responsibility was shared with his ex-wives. These statements reflect his perspective; they do not independently establish that family relationships were repaired or settle responsibility for the conflicts.

That is a promotional-sounding framing, not an established outcome. Brown’s comments show that he found the training difficult and used the interview to discuss personal regret. The available evidence does not show that viewers’ opinions changed or that his family relationships improved because of the show. The most supportable description is narrower: he appeared on season four and later spoke about what the experience brought up for him.
