In a statement reported by Bravo, she said, “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce.” She added that her focus was protecting her peace, being the best mother she could be, and co-parenting with love and respect.
Burruss later said she filed that day and described the split as something that had “been brewing for a while.” The divorce was finalized by settlement in March 2026, according to WSB-TV.

Burruss has not shared the specific reason publicly. In February 2026, she said a particular situation had brought the decision to a head in July 2025, but she declined to describe it. How long were they married, and how did they meet?
The couple married on April 4, 2014, and their marriage lasted about 11 years. They met in 2011, when Tucker worked as a producer on season four of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, became engaged in 2013, and married the following year, according to Bravo. Burruss described their relationship as about 14 years and said she had no regrets about the marriage: “I feel like we had a good marriage. It was great while it was great.”
What was reported about the divorce settlement?
WSB-TV reported that the settlement provides joint custody of the couple’s two children and no child-support payments. The outlet also reported that Burruss would pay Tucker $426,000 to equalize the deal. Real-estate details were redacted in the agreement, according to the station. In June 2026, Burruss said their prenuptial agreement covered almost everything they had to resolve and identified Atlanta Hawks tickets as the issue outside it, in remarks reported by Bravo.
What did Burruss say about Tucker’s later comments?
On September 17, 2026, TheGrio reported that Burruss responded after Tucker publicly discussed intimate details from their marriage. She objected to making their private sex life public and said, “What consensually happens between a husband and wife in the privacy of their marriage is exactly that—private.” Her statement reflects her response; the report does not independently establish private claims made by either party.

Do Kandi and Todd share custody?
Yes. WSB-TV’s account of the March 2026 settlement says they share joint custody of their two children. Burruss’s original announcement also said she intended to co-parent with love and respect.
