Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Updated October 7, 2026. Orange Is the New Black ran for seven seasons from 2013 to 2019, turning its ensemble of incarcerated women and prison staff into familiar faces. Its characters reached fictional endings in the final season; the actors’ careers continued beyond them. Here are dated examples of what some cast members did after the series, with a clear distinction between documented projects and claims about what they are doing now.
What happened to the cast after the series ended?
There is no single verified, cast-wide list of current projects as of October 2026. The examples below are specific career milestones with dates, not claims that these are each performer’s latest work.
Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman
Schilling played Piper Chapman, the character at the center of the series. A Us Weekly retrospective published around 2024 reports that Schilling starred in Apple TV+’s Dear Edward in 2023. That is a dated post-series credit, not confirmation of her current project in 2026. Us Weekly’s cast retrospective provides the dated context.
Laura Prepon as Alex Vause
Prepon played Alex Vause. Us Weekly’s approximately 2024 roundup notes that she reprised her role from That ’70s Show in Netflix’s That ’90s Show in 2023. The source establishes that past appearance, not a continuing or upcoming commitment. Read the dated roundup.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Diane Guerrero as Maritza Ramos
Guerrero played Maritza Ramos. Netflix’s cast guide identifies the actor-character pairing and describes Maritza’s story in the series finale. That guide is useful for understanding the character, but it does not establish Guerrero’s post-series career or current projects. Netflix Tudum’s cast guide covers the character’s fictional ending.
Laverne Cox and other queer cast members
The Advocate’s July 2023 retrospective looks at post-series work by queer cast members, including Cox and Schilling. It is a useful dated snapshot, but its publication date matters: it should not be read as a 2026 career update. The Advocate’s July 2023 retrospective supplies that context.

Dana Berger
Berger’s performer website identifies her appearance on Orange Is the New Black and lists projects through May 2026, including work on the independent horror film Prime Matter. This is a dated update for one supporting performer; it should not be generalized to the rest of the ensemble. See Dana Berger’s project page.
How did the series end, and what does that tell us about the actors?
Netflix’s guide describes the characters’ fictional outcomes, including Piper Chapman and Maritza Ramos. Those plot endings are not biographies: a character’s fate in the story says nothing by itself about the actor’s subsequent work. For the show itself, Netflix’s official title page is the series hub.

Us Weekly’s roughly 2024 account also notes three Screen Actors Guild Awards for the ensemble between 2015 and 2017. These figures describe the series’ run and recognition, not the cast’s later careers.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the series based on?
Orange Is the New Black is based on Piper Kerman’s 2010 memoir, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison. The memoir is a real-life account and a useful companion for readers interested in the source behind the series; it is distinct from the show’s fictional character arcs. Us Weekly’s retrospective identifies the memoir connection.
