The claim in the email is not, by itself, proof that Trump knew about Epstein’s abuse.
What Weekend Update said about the emails
An excerpt of Rolling Stone coverage hosted by IMDb reports that Weekend Update discussed an Epstein email in which Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls.” That wording is an allegation attributed to Epstein in correspondence, not an independently established finding.
The excerpt also reproduces co-anchor Colin Jost saying: “This week’s Epstein documents are obviously very dark and disturbing, but I also think it’s kind of adorable that Epstein’s email address was ‘jeevacation@gmail,’” IMDb’s excerpt of the Rolling Stone report attributes the line to Jost. It is secondary reporting, rather than an official SNL transcript or recording.
What the House Oversight announcement adds
On October 31, 2025, House Oversight Democrats listed an announcement about releasing Epstein email correspondence. Its headline said the release raised questions about a White House coverup. That is the committee Democrats’ characterization of the release—not an adjudicated finding that a coverup occurred. The announcement is listed on the House Oversight Democrats’ release page.

What the reported email does—and does not—establish
The available reporting supports that Weekend Update discussed emails attributed to Epstein and that one reported email contained Epstein’s claim that Trump “knew about the girls.” It does not establish that the claim is true. An email can show what its author wrote; it does not, without corroborating evidence, prove the underlying assertion.
That distinction matters when reading the story’s three layers: the reported contents of Epstein’s email, the committee’s political framing of the release, and the show’s satirical response. They are not interchangeable forms of evidence.

Where to check the segment
A third-party transcript reproduction also identifies the segment, but neither it nor the IMDb-hosted report is an official SNL transcript. The available results place the discussion around November 15–16, 2025; they do not independently settle the exact air date or verify the complete wording. A definitive check would require the original NBC or SNL episode listing or video. The third-party transcript is available at Cockatoo.
