Recorded songs for the road
The 50501 Movement’s March 28, 2026 post gathers songs recommended by its community, including familiar anthems and older protest classics. These tracks suit a personal listening playlist, where varied arrangements and longer songs work better than they might in a moving crowd.

For a contemporary, movement-linked choice, the post lists “No Kings In The USA” by Gangstagrass feat. Allison Russell, OleFuckTrump, Demeanor, R-Son the Voice of Reason & Dolio The Sleuth. It is one community-sourced selection, not an official No Kings anthem. See the 50501 Movement’s song list.
Songs people can sing together
A live march set has different demands from a listening playlist. People may be hearing a song for the first time, moving, or joining only for a refrain. Kairos Center’s song sheets identify material for settings including marches, rallies, vigils, and sit-ins, with call-and-response options.

- “Hands Off” is a call-and-response song written for street singing during the April 5, 2025 national day of action; Kairos says it was led in a New York City march.
- “Trump, Your Kingdom Must Come Down” adapts a traditional song for a march or rally.
- “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody” offers a familiar traditional refrain that can be easier to join than a full, unfamiliar song.
- “No Están Solos” was written with migrant-justice and anti-militarism organizers.
- “We Get There Together” is described in the March 2026 sheet as a song used in protest settings and gatherings.

How to choose and order the songs
Choose for the people and setting, not just the message. A strong listening sequence can move from widely recognized songs to newer material, then finish with a refrain listeners can carry with them. For singing in a crowd, prioritize short lines and a chorus people can learn quickly.

- Familiarity: A recognizable tune or refrain lowers the barrier to joining in.
- Singability: Favor simple lyrics and a clear response over complicated verses.
- Energy and pace: Match the tempo to whether people are walking, gathering, or holding a quieter vigil.
- Language and audience: Include songs that fit the group and make lyrics available where possible.
- Setting: A song that works in a sit-in or vigil may not carry well during a march.
Kairos Center’s guidance recommends multiple song leaders on marches, stopping to teach a song when needed, and using amplification so participants can hear and join. Music can also set energy, ground a group, or help de-escalate. AP reported a protester using a speaker system to lead a sing-along at a 2025 No Kings event; a portable speaker is an optional practical aid, not a required purchase or a guarantee that a crowd will hear clearly. No Kings describes its events as nonpartisan and says they are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. Its official About page also sets out commitments to nonviolence, lawful behavior, and de-escalation. A playlist can express opposition to authoritarianism and the Trump administration while remaining consistent with those stated principles. Read No Kings’ event principles.
