In “Game Face,” the Wellbrexa mystery finally points to a person: Mrs. Belvin, the source who steered Matty and Edwin toward Jacobson Moore. The reveal arrives alongside a Slamm’d class-action victory and a painful breach of trust between Matty and Olympia. Spoilers for Season 1, Episode 15 follow.

CBS lists “Game Face” as Season 1, Episode 15, which aired March 13, 2025. Its official synopsis centers on Olympia’s partnership ambitions and the team’s race to get a dangerous drink off the market. The episode also moves forward the larger Wellbrexa investigation and Matty’s relationships at home.

How the Slamm’d case survives its first setback

The class action is suddenly at risk when Tucker, the original plaintiff, accepts a settlement. Without him, Olympia’s team could lose the named plaintiff needed to keep the case moving. The judge allows it to continue, giving the lawyers a chance to build the case around Slamm’d’s marketing and the evidence they recovered from a high-school promotional event.

That evidence includes beta cans that differ from the version marketed to consumers: the warnings and mascot have changed. The team connects those label changes to the company’s supporting research, turning what might look like a packaging detail into a question about how Slamm’d presented the drink and its risks. Olympia ultimately brings the case to a settlement. The episode’s recap sources differ on the settlement details, so no amount is established here.

What Matty finds in the Wellbrexa files

The Slamm’d evidence gives Matty a way to think about the missing Wellbrexa documents. She and Edwin had been looking for the material that could explain why a drug label changed without the study that should support the change.

Matty finds a warning that crushing Wellbrexa tablets could cause the drug to be released and absorbed faster. She reasons that the missing study may have shown how the label change affected the drug’s potential to produce a stronger high—not merely documented a safety concern. That interpretation sharpens the importance of the missing evidence and gives Matty a new lead to pursue.

Mrs. Belvin reveals herself as the informant

Matty contacts the Redditor who first pointed her and Edwin toward Jacobson Moore. Edwin sets a phishing trap to confirm that the source still works at the firm. With the new Wellbrexa evidence in hand, Matty writes to the source and asks to meet in a park.

Mrs. Belvin appears at the meeting. She is the informant who directed Matty and Edwin toward the firm, and her knowledge could make her a key witness in the case against Jacobson Moore. Her arrival turns an anonymous lead into a person who may be able to help the investigation move forward.

Matty and Olympia’s partnership is tested

The revelation that Olympia hid the Wellbrexa documents strains her relationship with Matty. It is not simply a disagreement about strategy: Matty has to reckon with the fact that Olympia withheld information central to the investigation, while Olympia’s hoped-for partnership hangs in the balance.

At home, a separate breach of trust comes to light. Bitsy sees Matty drawing on her sister’s experiences and manner as part of the “Matlock” persona she uses in court. Matty apologizes and admits she is heartbroken at the possibility of losing Olympia as a friend. The sisters reconcile, and Matty asks Bitsy to become Alfie’s guardian if anything happens to Matty and Edwin.

Alfie’s crush on Molly and his preparations for a school dance offer a lighter counterpoint to the episode’s legal and family tensions. But the closing turn belongs to Mrs. Belvin: the Wellbrexa source is no longer hidden, and Matty now has a potential witness as well as a stronger theory about the missing study.
