Three longtime experts are reported to be leaving the U.S. version of Married at First Sight ahead of Season 20: Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr. Pia Holec. The new season’s panel is Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz. The departures were reported by Just Jared on January 6, 2026, relaying statements shared by Variety; Peacock later confirmed the incoming experts.
Which experts are leaving Married at First Sight?
The reported departures are Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr. Pia Holec, all familiar from the U.S. edition of the reality series. Just Jared reported their exits on January 6, 2026, attributing the news and reproduced statements to Variety.
- Dr. Pepper Schwartz is a sociologist who had been with the show since its 2014 debut, according to Just Jared.
- Pastor Cal Roberson is a marriage counselor. Just Jared says he joined in 2016; his statement describes his role as “spiritual advisor and relationship coach.”
- Dr. Pia Holec is an intimacy and relationship specialist who joined in 2022, according to Just Jared. Her statement says she plans to focus on clinical work and educational projects involving mental health, interpersonal relationships and intimacy.
The reported statements express gratitude and describe future priorities, but they do not establish a shared reason for the exits or say that the experts were dismissed. The departure details are entertainment-news reporting, rather than a direct announcement from Peacock.
Who are the new Season 20 experts?
Peacock’s official Season 20 profile names relationship expert Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz as the incoming panel. Brunson is an author, podcast host and relationship expert with prior experience on Married at First Sight UK. “I’ve been coaching couples my entire career; the goal is to have you find a partner,” he said in Peacock’s June 26, 2026 profile.

Peacock describes Paz as a Miami-based, board-certified sex therapist and licensed marriage and family therapist with nearly two decades of experience. The new panel therefore has two experts rather than the outgoing trio, with publicly described backgrounds spanning relationship coaching and clinical sex and marriage/family therapy. Those role descriptions do not establish how well either panel matched couples.
What is Season 20 about, and where can you watch it?
Season 20 is the U.S. series’ Seattle edition. Peacock says the season brings together 14 singles matched into seven couples. Its listed premiere date was July 12, 2026, and episodes stream on Peacock. Availability can vary by territory.
