Spoilers for Season 1, Episode 10, “Full Circle.” Tony and Ziva stop Jonah’s attack, rescue Tali, and choose to try dating again—but slowly. The finale ends not with a new threat, but with the family together in their Paris apartment. Jonah is arrested and later dies in prison, while the episode leaves a question about Martine’s possible role in his death.
How Tony, Ziva, and their team stop Jonah
In “Full Circle,” Tony and Ziva join forces with Martine, Jonah’s former ally, to stop the attack and get Tali back. Their team reprograms the 9.4 system, turning Jonah’s own weapons plan against him. The attack is stopped, and Tali is rescued.
That resolution depends on the group working together despite uncertainty about whom they can trust. Paramount+’s official episode guide describes the finale’s central problem as Tony and Ziva trying to prevent a deadly international attack while figuring out whom to trust. Martine’s help is pivotal, but the ending does not make every question about her motives disappear.
What happens to Jonah?
Jonah is arrested after the attack is thwarted. He later dies in prison. The finale and its aftermath leave the circumstances of his death open to suspicion: a recap suggests Martine may have had a hand in it, while TheWrap’s account notes that the story leaves unresolved what she knows. The episode does not establish a definitive explanation that closes that question.

Do Tony and Ziva end up together?
Yes, in the sense that they decide to start dating again. The decision is mutual, and Tali gives them her blessing. They also agree to take the relationship slowly, so the finale offers a hopeful restart rather than claiming that their complicated history is settled.
The final scene places Tony and Ziva together in their Paris apartment, enjoying a rare quiet moment after the danger. Their reunion is the emotional payoff: the family is back together, and the adults choose to see whether they can build a relationship again. It is a real resolution for the season, even though it leaves space for future complications.

Why the aired ending is quiet—and what the alternate ending was
The released finale ends with the apartment scene. Creator and showrunner John McNamara told TheWrap in an interview published October 23, 2025, that a darker cliffhanger had been filmed and cut. It was considered as a possible opening for a second season, but it is not part of the aired ending and should not be treated as an event viewers saw.
McNamara said the quieter scene worked more powerfully once he saw the performances by Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly. As he put it, “Once I saw the footage I was like, ‘That’s the ending.’” In a TV Insider interview published December 19, 2025, he described the choice as: “I just made the command decision of let’s end on a rest, not a crescendo.”

That choice gives the finale a deliberate change of pace. After an action-heavy story about stopping an attack and rescuing Tali, the last beat is about Tony and Ziva having room to reconnect. The cut cliffhanger would have pointed more sharply toward another crisis; the version that aired closes on a personal moment instead.

No. In October 2025, McNamara said there had been no conversations with Paramount+ about more episodes. A later TV Insider report, dated December 19, 2025, said the series had been canceled after one season. Season 1 was reported as available on Paramount+ at that time; streaming catalogs can change by country, so check the service in your territory.

The finale still leaves potential story material—especially the unresolved question around Martine—but that possibility is not the same as a confirmed continuation. The only public viewing figure cited by TheWrap was 371 million viewing minutes for the three-episode September debut, which ranked No. 8 on Nielsen’s streaming originals list for the week of September 1, 2025. That is a debut-week measurement, not a full-season total, and it does not establish why the show was canceled.
