Pascal Ibgui left Joan Vassos’s Fantasy Suites week before they reached the suite. On their Tahitian date, he told her he cared about her but was not in love and could not offer the commitment she wanted. The bonding ceremony unsettled him, but it was not his only stated reason for ending things.
Who left during Fantasy Suites week?
Pascal was one of three men still dating Joan as the overnight-date week began; the others were Guy Gansert and Chock Chapple. Guy and Chock had their dates first. Pascal’s date began with a Tahitian welcome and a bonding ceremony that asked the pair to discuss fears and release them. He said the emotionally direct ritual frightened him and that he had hoped for a more casual date. Why did Pascal leave?
What he said during the episode
Pascal’s on-camera explanation centered on his feelings and readiness: he cared about Joan, but did not feel in love or able to give her what she was looking for. In a post-episode interview with TheWrap, published October 30, 2024, he said he felt two other men were very much in love and that it would not be fair to stay when he could not offer the same commitment. He also described feeling guarded and not having spent enough time with Joan to know her well. He did not want the departure to be read as a decision made after a sexual encounter; he left before the suite.
The ceremony was part of the context, not a complete explanation. Pascal told Joan it made him uncomfortable, but his stated concern was also that he could not meet the emotional commitment she wanted.

What Pascal added later
In a conversation reported by Bachelor Nation on August 13, 2026, Pascal added that he anticipated distance being difficult, feared rejection, and believed Joan would choose Chock. He told Joan, “I felt like the distance was going to be a challenge for me. And I had, you know, I got an ego and I didn’t want to be rejected because I felt, also, that Chock was the winner.”
That later account adds perspective; it is not what viewers heard as his explanation in the episode. Pascal’s broadcast-era comments focused on not being in love and not feeling able to give Joan what she wanted. In 2026, he described distance, anticipated rejection, and his belief about Chock as influences on his choice. He did not say that he had no feelings for Joan.

How did Joan respond?
Joan was hurt, but later said she respected Pascal’s decision rather than wanting him to talk himself into a relationship. As she put it to TheWrap, “You either feel it or don’t.” She also explained that the overnights were intended to create emotional intimacy and time for private conversations about family, finances, home life, and what a shared future might look like. She said she had not pictured having a physical relationship with more than one person, so she took that off the table. After Pascal left, Guy and Chock remained.
