What happens in “The Strip”?
“The Strip” is the eighth and final episode of Fallout Season 2. Amazon’s series overview lists eight episodes, all available to stream on Prime Video, and describes the season’s journey through the Mojave wasteland to New Vegas. PC Gamer gives the finale’s runtime as about 46 minutes.

Rather than settle the struggle for New Vegas, the episode gathers its central characters there and points their stories toward new conflicts. Lucy and Maximus reunite; the Ghoul leaves with a lead on his family; and the city becomes the prize in a looming contest among the Legion, the NCR and Robert House.
What happens to Hank?
Lucy confronts Hank and destroys the mainframe after the connected head of Representative Welch asks her to kill him. Hank explains that the surface is the experiment. Lucy stops the plan, but her victory does not bring a clean resolution: Hank resets himself, apparently wiping his memories. The episode leaves Lucy to face the consequences of having stopped her father while deciding what to do with the person he is now.

Who is Stephanie, and what is Phase 2?
The finale reveals that Stephanie is Hank’s wife and identifies her as an Enclave operative. She activates “Phase 2” through a Pip-Boy. The episode does not explain the plan’s ultimate purpose, so its activation is a setup rather than an answer.
Does the Ghoul find Barb and Janey?
No reunion happens. The Ghoul encounters Robert House and gains access to the family cryo-vault, but Barb and Janey’s pods are empty. A clue points him toward Colorado, giving him a direction to pursue without establishing where his family is or whether they are alive.

In a TV Insider interview, Walton Goggins described his reaction to the empty pods and the Colorado lead with the phrase “hope springs eternal.” That captures the emotional note of the scene, not confirmation of what happened to Barb and Janey.
Do Lucy and Maximus reunite?
Yes. Maximus faces Deathclaws, survives with help from the NCR, and reunites with Lucy. Their reunion is one of the finale’s clearest resolutions, though it does not settle the wider dangers gathering around them.

Why is New Vegas headed for conflict?
After Caesar’s death, Lacerta emerges as the Legion’s leader and leads the faction toward Vegas. His claim to leadership comes amid an internal struggle, rather than being presented as an uncontested succession. The NCR is also in the picture, while Robert House remains a competing power. At the Lucky 38, Lucy and Maximus look out as the Legion approaches and the city faces renewed factional war.
Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet described New Vegas to TheWrap as a valuable prize: “New Vegas has always been one of the flowers of civilization in the ‘Fallout’ world, obviously, because House’s missiles largely protected it from the worst of the bombs and allowed it to be a relatively undestroyed city in the Wasteland, which was an incredibly rare thing.” She added, “So it is really a crown jewel and many factions want it accordingly.” The finale puts that competition in motion but does not decide who will control the city.

What is the post-credit scene?
The post-credit scene turns attention to the Brotherhood. Quintus takes on the identity “Destroyer” and is shown plans for a robot identified as Liberty Prime. It is a forward-looking reveal, not a completed Brotherhood storyline.
