Yes—Dafne Keen returns as Laura Kinney, the young mutant known as X-23, in Deadpool & Wolverine. She is the same Laura from Logan, not a variant. Keen spoke about the return, Laura’s growth and her reunion with Hugh Jackman in an interview with Esquire.
Is Dafne Keen back as X-23?
Yes. Marvel’s final trailer revealed Keen’s return as Laura Kinney, Wolverine’s clone daughter, in Deadpool & Wolverine. Keen confirmed she was playing the same Laura audiences met in Logan, rather than a different version of the character, according to GameSpot.

In the film’s story, Laura has spent years in the Void after being displaced there with other children. GamesRadar quotes Keen explaining that Laura “went along with the kids for a few years and got zapped” and has been in the Void for several years. There, she leads a group of displaced heroes that includes Blade, Elektra and Gambit. Her pink glasses are also visible during the group’s assault on Cassandra Nova’s compound.
What did Keen say about returning to Hugh Jackman?
Keen described Jackman as her first role model, saying, “He was my first role model. He was the first grown-up that I really looked up to.” She also said it was “really fun to do scenes again with him—and to explore that really beautiful bond that we built eight years ago.”

She said Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy treated Logan with care: “Ryan and Shawn were so respectful of what we’d made that they really kept it at the forefront of their minds.” Keen’s comments appear in Esquire’s interview, which also describes her seeing the completed film at its world premiere.
How has Laura changed since Logan?
Keen said Laura has a stronger understanding of “more parental rage” and a greater appreciation of what her father means to her. At the same time, Laura remains “physical and feral,” Keen told GameSpot. The return therefore builds on the character’s history with Logan rather than introducing a continuity reset.

What was changed about X-23’s first appearance?
Keen told Esquire that Laura’s planned entrance by car was changed after she explained she did not drive. The scene instead begins with a shot of Laura’s boots. Keen said she had learned to drive for Logan when she was eleven, but had forgotten by the time she returned for this film. This is Keen’s account of the production anecdote.
