The appeal of the cast pairing was its contrast: Mariano brought a reputation for strategic competition, while Jordan added another recognizable reality and entertainment figure. Both were contestants in season one; neither fact means they hosted the show.
How did Deal or No Deal Island work?
The show put a competition on an island around the briefcase premise of Deal or No Deal. Contestants searched for cases and took on challenges as they tried to remain in the game. The season culminated with the last player standing facing the Banker. Peacock’s series listing describes the format.
