On March 29, 2025, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke said that Gen V Season 2 had finished editing and that music, sound and visual effects work was underway. He also said he thought the season was “better than S1”—his personal prediction, not an established critical consensus or objective comparison. Amazon later scheduled the season’s first three episodes for September 17, 2025, with weekly releases through October 22.
What did Eric Kripke say about Gen V Season 2?
In a post reproduced by an IMDb news-index page, Kripke reported on March 29, 2025, that the episodes were done editing, with music, sound and visual effects in progress. He added that the first trailer was being finished and that its release and the season’s date announcement were coming soon. His full statement was: “Okay #GenV update! Eps are done editing, doing music, sound & VFX now. Finishing up the first trailer. Trailer drop & date announcement coming soon. (I think this season is better than S1 & will be worth the wait)” (IMDb’s reproduced report).
The “better than S1” line is Kripke’s own assessment as showrunner. It does not establish how critics or viewers received the season, and the available evidence does not provide a measured season-to-season comparison. The cited report reproduces the post; it is not the original X post.
When did Season 2 come out?
Amazon’s official Season 2 guide says the first three episodes debuted on Prime Video on September 17, 2025. It scheduled the remaining episodes weekly, ending with the finale on October 22, 2025.
