Big Brother season 20 runner-up Tyler Crispen announced on January 14, 2025, that he had welcomed his daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, and was engaged. He did not identify his fiancée in that announcement; in August 2025, he introduced her publicly as Emily.
What did Tyler Crispen announce?
Crispen shared that his daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, was born on January 12, 2025, and revealed that he was engaged. The two milestones appeared in the same January 14 announcement. Us Weekly quoted his caption calling it “The best secret of all time” and introducing Carter Rae as born on January 12. Us Weekly’s January 14, 2025 report reproduced details from his post.
Who is Tyler Crispen’s fiancée?
Crispen did not name his fiancée in January. On August 14, 2025, he introduced her as Emily in a YouTube video; Us Weekly reported the introduction the following day. Its report also described an Instagram carousel featuring milestones from their relationship. Us Weekly’s August 15, 2025 coverage distinguishes that later introduction from the earlier baby and engagement news.
Why had the couple kept their relationship private?
Us Weekly reported that Crispen said the couple had discussed keeping their relationship private early on. “If anything it just strengthens the connection because it can be hard for someone that is in the public eye to be with someone that’s not,” he explained, according to the publication. The initial announcement thanked close friends and family for helping keep the news private.

How does this differ from Crispen’s engagement to Angela Rummans?
Crispen was previously engaged to fellow Big Brother contestant Angela Rummans. They separated in December 2022, so that was a different relationship from the engagement he disclosed in 2025. TV Insider/Swooon’s August 15, 2025 profile reported that Crispen and Emily Estep began messaging in January 2023 and that he proposed during a trip in July 2024; those relationship details are attributed to that profile.
