Yes. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice held the No. 1 spot at the North American box office for the weekend of September 13–15, 2024, its second weekend in release. Contemporary coverage put its weekend gross at about $51.6 million and its domestic total at about $188 million.
How much did the film earn in its second weekend?
TheWrap reported an estimated $51.6 million for the September 13–15, 2024 weekend, bringing the film’s domestic total to about $188 million at that point. These are rounded figures reported at the time, not final audited totals. TheWrap’s report gives the weekend estimate and cumulative domestic figure.
How did that compare with its opening?
The second-weekend gross was below the film’s opening-weekend figure. The Numbers lists an opening gross of $111,003,345 for September 6–8, 2024, when the film played in 4,575 theaters. Those database figures may be updated. The Numbers’ title page provides the opening-weekend listing.
Box Office Mojo lists September 6, 2024, as the release date and Warner Bros. as distributor. The film follows Lydia Deetz and her teenage daughter Astrid, whose accidental opening of a portal to the Afterlife disrupts their lives. Box Office Mojo’s release listing includes those details.

What happened the following weekend?
The second-weekend result should not be confused with the film’s next box-office frame. The Associated Press reported that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice stayed No. 1 for a third straight weekend, taking in $26 million over September 20–22, 2024. In that later-weekend context, AP quoted Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian saying September had been “a bit of a sleepy month” and that around 47% of revenue was generated by the film. The Associated Press report covers the third-weekend result and comment.
