Disney+ announced an April 22, 2025 U.S. premiere, with episodes arriving in four chapters of three. Its May schedule confirmed the final two chapter dates and the finale time. The April 29 date below follows from the announced weekly cadence; it was not directly listed in the May schedule.

Release dates differed by territory. Disney UK announced an April 23, 2025 premiere and said later chapters would arrive weekly, one day after the U.S. date. That is a regional scheduling difference, not a conflicting schedule. Disney+ Press’s May 2025 schedule confirms the U.S. May dates, while Disney UK’s 2025 lineup announcement gives the UK date and chapter format.
Why did Andor end after Season 2?
The available statements describe a planned conclusion, not a cancellation. Disney and Lucasfilm framed Season 2 as the second and final season, with its narrative leading into Rogue One. Across 12 episodes, the season follows Cassian toward his place in the Rebel Alliance and the events of the film.
Creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy said the known endpoint and defined story structure helped shape the season: “It’s having the ending, it’s having the structure, it’s having the boundaries of Season 2 and the leadup to Rogue One that make it possible for the show to be good,” he said. “That restriction, that framework, really allows you to swing within that.” The Walt Disney Company published his comments on April 22, 2025.
Gilroy also told StarWars.com that the team knew where the story would end. The four-year span of Season 2’s story is distinct from its four-week release window: the former is in-universe time, while the latter is how quickly viewers received the episodes. Disney’s season overview describes that four-year scope.

Why the release felt so fast
Rather than spacing out all 12 episodes one at a time, Disney+ released three episodes together each week. Four weekly chapters therefore took four weeks to roll out. That compact schedule is what “over so quickly” describes; it does not mean the story itself takes place over only a month.
