The episode’s losses are severe, but the rebellion survives through people who carry its ideas forward—and through the next generation sheltered on Mina-Rau.
Which episode is the Andor finale?
The finale is Season 2, Episode 12, titled “Jedha, Kyber, Erso.” It is the third installment in the season’s final three-episode chapter. Lucasfilm’s official finale guide, published May 14, 2025, confirms that all episodes were then streaming on Disney+; that is the cited platform, not a guarantee of access in every territory.

The final three episodes premiered on Disney+ on May 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. PT, according to StarWars.com. Season 2 has 12 episodes released in four three-episode chapters and spans four years of story time, bridging the series to Rogue One, as described by The Walt Disney Company.
What happens at the end of Andor?
The final stretch is set one year before the Battle of Yavin. The Empire’s energy program serves as cover for the Death Star project. As the danger to the rebellion grows, Luthen chooses death over capture, while Kleya destroys evidence that could expose the network. The losses are not limited to Luthen: Lonni also dies, and Dedra is imprisoned. These events are recounted in Lucasfilm’s spoiler-filled finale guide.

Cassian, meanwhile, is not given a separate ending that closes off his future. He moves toward the events of Rogue One, and the finale points directly to the film’s world: Tivik, Kafrene, Saw Gerrera on Jedha, and Cassian’s eventual fate on Scarif. The series ends at the edge of the story viewers already know, rather than resolving every character’s fate independently of it.
How does the finale lead into Rogue One?
The finale functions as a handoff: it places Cassian on the path to the mission to steal the Death Star plans. The shift is from building a rebellion to carrying out the dangerous operation that becomes the center of Rogue One. Lucasfilm’s guide explicitly connects the ending to the film’s locations, characters, and Scarif outcome.

Interpretation: The connection makes Cassian’s choices in the film feel more heavily earned. The series has shown what he is leaving behind and the personal and political pressures that formed him. Diego Luna said the series changed how he sees Rogue One: “It has changed the way I see Rogue One; I’m positive of that,” he told The Walt Disney Company.
The endpoint was built into the show’s structure. Tony Gilroy described the known conclusion and the boundaries imposed by the lead-up to the film as enabling creative freedom: “That restriction, that framework, really allows you to swing within that,” he said in the same interview.

Why is “Long Live the Rebel Alliance” the right ending?
The finale does not present the rebellion as unified or victorious. It is still emerging, and the people who sustain it remain vulnerable. Luthen and Lonni are dead, Dedra is in prison, and Cassian is headed into a mission whose cost the film makes clear. The resistance persists less as a finished institution than as a commitment passed between people.
That idea comes into focus through Nemik’s manifesto and the final scenes involving children hidden safely on Mina-Rau. The rebels continue, and a future generation is protected even as the Empire’s violence narrows the characters’ choices. In Tony Gilroy’s framing, Season 1 follows Cassian’s “education and radicalization,” while Season 2 shows ordinary people being pushed by a war that has become difficult to stop; his comments appear in StarWars.com’s season-two feature.

Optional fan tie-in
For viewers who want a physical connection to the series, LEGO’s K-2SO Security Droid set 75434 is an 845-piece build-and-display figure based on the droid as seen in Season 2, intended for ages 10 and up. It is a supplementary collectible, not a recreation of a particular finale scene. Details are on LEGO’s product page.
