The claim raises suspicion; it does not establish that Campbell is guilty.
Why is Carlos tense with Campbell?
At the end of Episode 8, an informant tells Carlos that Gabriel Reyes suspected a Texas Ranger was exposing confidential informants and had named Campbell. Gabriel was Carlos’s father, and Carlos is investigating his killing. That revelation gives Carlos a reason to watch his partner closely, but it remains an allegation reported by the informant—not proof that Campbell betrayed anyone.
The preview for Season 5, Episode 9, “Fall From Grace,” plays on that gap between what Carlos knows and what Campbell knows. Carlos keeps the informant’s statement to himself and tries to control his visible anger while the investigation moves forward. The tension comes from Carlos having to work alongside a partner who may be implicated in his father’s case without revealing why he is suddenly wary.
Who are Carlos and Campbell?
Carlos Reyes, played by Rafael Silva, and Campbell, played by Parker Young, are Texas Rangers and partners. That professional relationship puts Carlos in a difficult position: he has a serious lead to pursue, but the lead points toward someone he works with. The preview signals distrust and pressure, not a confirmed betrayal.

What else happens in “Fall From Grace”?
TVLine reports that the episode introduces Ashley Campbell, Campbell’s wife, played by Peyton List. Co-showrunner Rashad Raisani praised the casting, saying, “What a get for us, to be honest.” Her introduction adds a personal connection to Campbell’s story as the investigation casts a shadow over Carlos’s partnership with him.
