Why was Guy making faces at the camera?
Rose said he had asked Guy to smile at the camera for his three-year-old brother, Sam, who was watching from Tennessee, according to contemporaneous reports by The Washington Post and the Associated Press. The Washington Post also reported that Guy described his father’s nearly five-minute speech as “so boring.”
What was the congressman talking about?
Rose’s remarks concerned Donald Trump’s criminal conviction in New York. That was the political subject of the speech; the reports do not establish that Guy’s expressions or gestures were a response to its content. How many views did the video get?
The Washington Post reported more than 3.8 million social-media views in its June 4, 2024, article. That is a figure reported at the time, not a current total; the available reporting does not establish how many views the clip has accumulated since.
