Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is worth considering if you want a solemn, slow-burning romance about a love tested by time. If you are expecting Neeraj Pandey to deliver a tightly wound thriller, its 144-minute runtime and deliberate pace may feel more ponderous than suspenseful.

There is another possible response. One Rotten Tomatoes review excerpt praises the film’s “bleeding-heart sincerity.” That earnestness is part of its appeal for viewers drawn to grand, unwavering love stories, even if the same seriousness can feel heavy-handed to those wanting sharper momentum.
Do Devgn and Tabu’s performances carry the story?
Devgn and Tabu bring a mature pairing to a romance shaped by separation and regret. The story depends less on flirtation or comic chemistry than on the weight of a shared past, so the film’s emotional effect rests on whether their scenes make that history feel present. In my view, the pairing is a stronger reason to watch than the crime framework: the relationship gives the story its emotional center, while the plot’s delayed information does not consistently supply equivalent forward drive.

Does the reveal reward patience?
The film delays the truth behind Krishna’s crimes and uses its structure to connect the past with the reunion. Keeping that information back protects the central mystery, but it also makes the audience wait for context that could strengthen the emotional stakes. The reveal may satisfy viewers who enjoy a romance built around withheld history; it is less likely to redeem the pace for anyone primarily waiting for a tightly engineered thriller. Anuj Kumar of The Hindu, quoted through Rotten Tomatoes’ review listing, wrote: “Promising to be rousing in its simplicity, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha turns out to be a boring, dated, and, at times, inadvertently amusing experience.” That is Kumar’s assessment, not a universal verdict; it nevertheless captures why the film may frustrate viewers who expect its premise to move with greater urgency.
Content advisory: violence and sexual threat
The BBFC classifies the UK cinema version for strong violence and bloody images. Its detailed advice describes stabbings with hooks and knives, visible blood, fighting, threats and language, as well as a repeated flashback in which a woman is dragged away and sexual violence is strongly implied. The Australian Classification Board classified the film MA 15+ for strong violence and notes Hindi dialogue with English subtitles. Where can you watch it?
Rotten Tomatoes lists Prime Video, and producer Shital Bhatia said in an October 2024 Bollywood Hungama interview that the film had made its OTT debut there. Streaming catalogs vary by country and change over time, so check the title’s local Prime Video listing before subscribing or renting. In the same interview, Bhatia described OTT as “an additional window” for discovery and said the team felt it had fallen short in marketing the film; those are the producer’s retrospective comments, not independent evidence about the film’s box-office performance.
