KICK did not report 50 million users on its exact second anniversary. In February 2025, marking two years, the livestreaming platform said it had grown from 1 million accounts in February 2023 to more than 45 million. It later announced 50 million registered users as it entered its third year. That is a substantial account-acquisition milestone, but it is not a count of verified active viewers.
What KICK’s 50-million figure actually counts
KICK’s milestone announcement called the total “registered users.” Its second-birthday post described accounts. Neither post identifies the figure as monthly or daily active users, unique viewers, or paying subscribers. The announcements are company statements; the sources cited here do not establish that an independent auditor verified the totals.
The distinction matters: registrations indicate how many accounts a platform says have been created, not how often their owners watch, whether they return, or how much revenue they generate.
KICK’s reported growth timeline
| Date | Milestone | What KICK reported |
|---|---|---|
| February 2023 | 1 million accounts | KICK’s later second-birthday post gave this as its starting point. |
| February 2025 | More than 45 million accounts | KICK cited this figure while marking its second birthday. |
| Early 2025 | 50 million registered users | KICK announced the milestone shortly after the second-birthday figure and described the start of its third year. |
| September 2025 | More than 75 million users | A company press release also said KICK had logged more than 1.5 billion hours watched in the quarter; that viewing figure is a separate measure. |
| June 2026 | More than 100 million users | KICK used this figure in a press release about its Riot Games broadcast partnership. |
All five milestones are company-reported, not an independently verified active-user series. KICK’s own materials also show why dates and wording matter: its current streamer-facing page displays “64M+ users,” while its June 2026 press release says “over 100 million users.” The measurement basis and update cadence behind those different public totals are not clear from the cited pages.

Why KICK attracted attention and sign-ups
KICK has positioned itself as an alternative to established livestreaming services, with a creator-focused pitch and a comparatively large stated share of certain creator revenues. That proposition, recruitment of high-profile streamers, and creators bringing their existing communities can help explain rapid account growth. The public figures do not establish how much each factor contributed, however.
A creator-revenue pitch
KICK’s current help documentation says creators receive 95% of subscription, KICKs, and Gifts revenue, with the platform retaining 5% as a processing fee. KICK describes subscriptions as about $5 per month; its viewer guide says $5, while its subscription instructions display $4.99. These are current platform terms as described in the linked documentation, not a guarantee that every creator qualifies for monetisation or that the same split applies to every revenue stream or contract.

Subscriptions are available to Affiliates and Partners, and the Partner Program has additional eligibility requirements. A 95% share is a percentage, not a prediction of earnings: a creator’s total depends on audience size, willingness to pay, viewing habits, and eligibility. Large creators can bring viewers who may otherwise have little reason to try a new service. KICK has also presented itself as a home for more than gaming, including sports, entertainment, and lifestyle content. Riot Games announced a KICK partnership covering League of Legends Esports, VALORANT, and TFT broadcasts beginning with MSI 2026; Riot said the arrangement excludes China and Korea. That is evidence of a distribution partnership, not a measure of KICK’s audience or market share.
KICK’s second-birthday post additionally claimed more than 1.8 billion hours watched and more than $23.5 million paid to creators through its Creator Incentive Program. Those are company-reported figures tied to the post, not independent measures of platform-wide earnings or profitability.

What the milestone does—and does not—show
Fifty million registered accounts suggest substantial awareness and a broad potential audience for creators, subscriptions, gifts, advertising, and sponsorship. The number alone does not reveal how many accounts are active, how long viewers watch, how many return after signing up, or how revenue is distributed between the platform and creators.
- It does not establish monthly or daily active users. KICK’s cited announcement does not define the figure as either measure.
- It does not establish unique or concurrent viewers. Account totals are different from audience and viewership metrics.
- It does not establish retention, revenue per user, advertising scale, or profitability.
- It does not show how much activity is concentrated among a small number of large creators.
- It does not prove KICK matched Twitch’s overall engagement or market position.
For a fuller picture, readers would need consistently defined data such as monthly active users, average concurrent viewers, hours watched, active channels, retention, and revenue. The cited public milestones do not provide a like-for-like series of those measures.

Comparisons need matching metrics. KICK’s registered-account claim cannot be set beside Twitch hours watched, average concurrent viewers, or monthly active viewers as though those figures measured the same thing. Nor does the account count show that KICK has closed Twitch’s lead in engagement or commercial scale.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What creators should consider before choosing KICK
A headline account total is not a forecast of an individual channel’s reach. A creator weighing KICK should compare the likely audience and operating terms for their own content, rather than choosing a platform on the revenue split alone.
- Assess audience transfer. Consider where existing viewers live and whether they are likely to follow. A platform’s total accounts do not tell you how discoverable a new channel will be.
- Compare actual channel economics. Estimate expected subscriptions and viewing, then compare likely total earnings—not just the percentage retained. Include payout timing, tax handling, and payment availability.
- Check eligibility and current terms. Registering does not automatically unlock subscriptions or Partner Program payments. Confirm dashboard requirements and the current KICK Help Center guidance.
- Review exclusivity and multistreaming rules. Do not assume a program or contract permits simulcasting; check the terms that apply to your account.
- Evaluate moderation and brand fit. Consider the content environment, moderation tools, support, and the expectations of sponsors and viewers you want to reach.
- Plan distribution beyond the live platform. Decide whether you can repurpose streams for video or short-form channels, subject to applicable rights and platform terms.
A larger share of a smaller audience can produce less income than a smaller share of a larger, more engaged audience. The user milestone does not resolve that trade-off for any one creator.

What viewers should know
For viewers, the practical question is whether the creators and broadcasts they care about are available in their region and whether KICK’s content and moderation environment suits them. A subscription is not an ad-free pass: KICK’s viewer guide says subscribing does not remove the general ad experience. Content access can also vary by country, and creators can change platforms or schedules.
KICK is a Riot Games broadcast partner for specified esports events beginning with MSI 2026, but the partnership excludes China and Korea under Riot’s announcement. See Riot’s announcement for the stated scope.
Why 50 million is a meaningful but limited milestone
Reaching 50 million registered accounts shortly after the two-year anniversary is a notable sign of acquisition, especially alongside KICK’s later company-reported totals. It is not proof that 50 million people were actively watching, that creators broadly earned more, that the platform was profitable, or that KICK had matched Twitch. Those conclusions require engagement, retention, and financial measures that the cited account-count announcements do not supply.
