Daredevil: Born Again has not confirmed that a bank-robbery diamond is an Infinity Stone. The yellow-orange gem and the robbers’ differently colored masks invite a fan Easter-egg theory, but no official source identifies the object as a Stone. Foggy Nelson’s Season 2 appearance is also not evidence of a resurrection: the episode shows him in flashbacks to his earlier work with Matt.
Why fans wondered if the bank gem was an Infinity Stone
In Season 1, Episode 5, a bank robbery centers on a yellow-orange diamond, as described in a contemporary Yahoo Entertainment recap. A separate fan-theory discussion points to the robbers’ differently colored masks and reads the colors alongside the gem as an echo of the Infinity Stones (Bam Smack Pow, March 31, 2025).
The orange hue is what makes the Soul Stone comparison tempting. But the comparison remains a visual interpretation: the reviewed reporting does not establish that the diamond has a Stone’s identity or powers, and no official source confirms it as an Infinity Stone. The show’s street-level focus is consistent with a jewel robbery being just that; Disney describes the series as grounded in a New York City, “street-based ecosystem” (The Walt Disney Company, March 4, 2025).
What Foggy’s Season 2 appearance actually shows
Season 2, Episode 5, “The Grand Design,” includes flashbacks to Matt and Foggy’s earlier legal work, according to TechRadar’s episode explainer of April 15, 2026. Foggy is present in those past scenes; that is different from returning alive in the episode’s present-day story. The flashbacks do not establish that he survived the Season 1 shooting.

Why the comics make a fake-out plausible—but not certain
There is a comic-book precedent that can feed resurrection theories. In the storyline summarized by TechRadar, Foggy is presumed dead and later revealed to have faked his death to enter witness protection. That is useful context for fans familiar with the comics, but it is not confirmation that the television series will adapt the same outcome.
How the showrunner frames Foggy’s loss
Showrunner Dario Scardapane has described Foggy’s death as a deliberate choice with ongoing consequences for Matt. In a May 30, 2026 interview with Awards Radar, he said: “The Foggy decision was directly tied to the Vanessa decision. The idea for season two is that both of them are fully themselves.” He also described the paired losses as stripping away a layer from Matt and Wilson Fisk: “Taking Foggy away from Matt is cruel to the fans, and to Matt, taking Vanessa away from Fisk is cruel, but it stripped one more layer off them.”

In comments reported by ComicBookMovie on April 22, 2026, Scardapane said Foggy’s loss “colors everything that Matt does in every episode from here on out,” while acknowledging that some comic runs faked Foggy’s death. Those remarks support reading Foggy’s flashbacks as a way to keep his history and influence present—not as an announcement that he is alive again.
