There is no single official ranking of the world’s biggest foods: records measure different things, from weight to area and dimensions. This curated list brings together ten striking Guinness World Records, labeling what each number measures and when the achievement was recorded. It includes prepared foods and, separately, two raw-food records.
Ten remarkable food records
1. Largest individual chocolate: a 13,852.71 kg (30,540 lb) Hershey’s Kiss
Hershey Foods Corporation made the giant Kiss for the chocolate’s centenary. It was displayed in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on 7 July 2007. This record is for one individual chocolate, not a chocolate bar. Guinness World Records
2. Largest cheesecake: 6,807.5 kg (15,008 lb)
PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese achieved the cheesecake record in Lowville, New York, on 20 September 2024. Guinness World Records
3. Largest chocolate bar: 5,792.50 kg (12,770 lb 4.48 oz)
Thorntons plc made the record-setting bar in Alfreton, Derbyshire, UK, in 2011. Guinness’s Japanese-language page gives conflicting days in its summary and description, so the year is the reliable date to report. Guinness World Records

5. Largest macaroni and cheese: 2,151 kg (4,742 lb 2.29 oz)
Schreiber Foods Inc. made the dish in Logan, Utah, on 29 July 2022. The record event fed more than 2,000 people, and Guinness says the leftovers were donated to a local food pantry. Guinness World Records

6. Largest pizza by area: 1,296.72 m² (13,957.77 ft²)
Airrack’s Los Angeles pizza set the area record on 19 January 2023. Guinness lists 6,193 kg of dough, 2,244 kg of sweet marinara sauce, 3,992 kg of cheese and roughly 630,496 pepperoni slices among its ingredients. The record is based on area, not a verified finished-pizza weight. Guinness World Records
7. Largest cupcake (fairy cake): 1,176.6 kg (2,594 lb)
Georgetown Cupcake achieved the record in Sterling, Virginia, on 2 November 2011. The cake was 56 inches in diameter and 36 inches tall; its custom pan weighed 305.9 kg. Guinness World Records

9. Heaviest pumpkin: 1,246.9 kg (2,749 lb)
This Atlantic Giant pumpkin, grown by Travis Gienger, was weighed at the 50th Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in 2023. It is a giant fruit, not a prepared dish. Guinness World Records

10. Largest bunch of bananas: 130 kg (286 lb 9 oz)
The bunch contained 473 bananas and was grown in the Canary Islands by Kabana SA and Tecorone SL. Guinness reported the record in 2026. It is a produce record, rather than a single prepared meal. Guinness World Records

By recorded weight, the individual Kiss is the heaviest prepared item on this list, followed by the cheesecake and the chocolate bar. That comparison is limited to the records whose figures are weights; the pizza’s record is its area, while its ingredient list does not establish a finished weight. The pumpkin and banana bunch are raw produce, not prepared dishes.

Guinness World Records warns that “Records change on a daily basis and are not immediately published online.” These figures are documented achievements, not a guarantee that each remains the current record. Check the linked record pages for the latest status.
