Dolph Lundgren’s new documentary, Dolph: Unbreakable, looks beyond his action-film roles to his family, childhood, chronic injuries and experience with cancer. Lundgren said the diagnosis changed the film’s direction, turning a project he had begun earlier into a more personal account of his life.
What is Dolph Lundgren’s new documentary about?
Dolph: Unbreakable is a documentary about Lundgren’s life and career, combining home video, archival images and interviews. Its subjects include his childhood and family, the injuries he has dealt with over the years, and his cancer experience. Super Channel describes the film as looking beyond the action-star persona.
The film is not only a career retrospective: Lundgren’s health experience became part of the story as the documentary was being made.
How did his cancer diagnosis change the film?
In an October 4, 2026 interview with Moviefone, Lundgren said he had started the documentary before receiving his cancer diagnosis. The diagnosis prompted the team to reshape and re-edit the film. He described making it as therapeutic and said he hoped it might inspire viewers.

“I didn’t really do it for myself, but it turned out to be therapeutic.”
In that same October 2026 interview, Lundgren said he had been “NED” (“no evidence of disease”) for three years. That is his statement at the time of the interview, not an independent medical assessment or a current update.

Lundgren’s memoir, Fights Worth Fighting: Finding Strength in Struggle, is a separate work that may interest viewers drawn to the documentary’s themes of resilience and personal challenges.
