What is the documentary about?
Netflix describes the series as a portrait of Perry’s journey from rising comedic star to the actor widely identified with Chandler Bing on Friends. It will draw on firsthand recollections from family and friends, memories from creative collaborators, and photographs and videos from the Perry family’s private archive. The announcement also says the series will address candid details of Perry’s private struggles.

The scope is broader than a recap of Friends: Netflix frames it around both Perry’s career and the person known to those close to him. Netflix’s 2026 article notes that he played Chandler across 236 episodes of the series, which ran from 1994 to 2004, and that he died in October 2023 at age 54.
