None had been officially confirmed for the showcase. Now that the event has passed, the list is best read as a record of pre-show speculation—not as a slate of announcements. Insider Gaming’s June 3 preview mixed partner and release-window clues with leaks and outright speculation; post-show reports provide a separate record of what the broadcast featured.
What was rumored for Summer Game Fest 2025?
Insider Gaming’s June 3, 2025 preview named 17 possible appearances. The outlet stressed that none of the games had been officially confirmed for the June 6 showcase. Its list included a mix of reported leaks, indirect clues and speculative possibilities; a publisher’s participation in the event did not confirm that a specific game would appear.
- Resident Evil 9
- BioShock
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
- The Wolf Among Us 2
- Crimson Desert
- Lies of P: Overture
- Arc Raiders
- Blood of Dawnwalker
- Kingdom Hearts 4
- A Final Fantasy 9 remake
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- A Persona 4 remake
- Subnautica 2
- Dying Light: The Beast
- Little Nightmares 3
- Mina the Hollower
- Half-Life 3
The list should not be mistaken for 17 equally supported predictions. Insider Gaming’s roundup included games connected to event-partner or release-window context, claims attributed to leakers, indirect clues and possible surprise appearances. For instance, it noted that Kingdom Hearts 4 and Blood of Dawnwalker were not confirmed just because their publishers were involved with the event. It also said Team Cherry’s absence from the partner list did not rule out Silksong. Those distinctions matter: a clue can make an appearance seem plausible without establishing that it will happen.
Which rumors appeared at the showcase?
Summer Game Fest Live took place on June 6, 2025. GameSpot’s recap of the broadcast lists announcements and updates including Mortal Shell II, Fortnite Death Star Sabotage, a Death Stranding 2: On The Beach segment, Chronicles: Medieval, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, Code Vein II and End of Abyss.

Of the 17 entries in Insider Gaming’s preview, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is documented in GameSpot’s recap as part of the showcase. The recap does not list the other 16 preview entries among the event’s announcements and updates. That is a finding about what these post-show records document—not proof that no related news or mention occurred anywhere in the broadcast or around the event.
PC Gamer’s June 6–7 event report also covers the showcase and identifies Mortal Shell II as announced for Steam in 2026. Its coverage corroborates the event’s completed status and records a slate that included reveals beyond the preview’s list. A busy show does not mean every pre-show rumor appeared.

How to read the pre-show claims
Insider Gaming did not present the 17 games as confirmed announcements. Its evidence varied by title, and the list’s inclusion alone does not reveal how strong any particular claim was. Keep three things separate when assessing the roundup:
- Official confirmation: The preview explicitly said no listed game was officially confirmed for the showcase.
- Evidence cited before the event: The article drew on different kinds of context, including partner participation and release windows, reported leaks and speculation. These do not carry the same weight.
- What post-show coverage records: Recaps document specific announcements and segments. They are the basis for comparing the rumor list with the event, rather than retrospective assumptions that a plausible rumor must have come true.
One example of why attribution matters is the Resident Evil 9 section: the preview relayed a “95% positive” confidence claim from leaker Dusk Golem. That figure was the leaker’s characterization, not an observed statistic, official probability or Capcom confirmation. Likewise, a leak remains a leak unless an official announcement verifies it.

Why the list is historical, not a current forecast
The preview was published three days before the 2025 show. The event has since taken place, so the list answers what people were speculating about before that broadcast—not what is expected at a future Summer Game Fest. The official Summer Game Fest website describes the annual gathering as a live and streamed weekend of game reveals and announcements, but its current page concerns the 2026 event and should not be used to infer details about the 2025 schedule.
