How the watch was identified
Time+Tide reported the sighting on September 3, 2024, based on an Instagram photo of Zuckerberg with his arm around Priscilla Chan. The image reveals only part of the watch case and crown. The publication attributed the initial identification to watch spotter Niccoloy and said Zuckerberg confirmed the identification in a comment on his post. The report does not reproduce the comment’s wording, so it supports the identification without establishing more about the watch than the image and report show. Time+Tide’s sighting report
Why the salmon-dial 5236P is a likely match
Time+Tide identifies the watch as a Patek Philippe reference 5236P and suggests the salmon-dial version introduced in 2024 as the likely variant, inferring it from the strap color. Because the photograph is partial, the dial itself cannot be reliably used to confirm that configuration. The report therefore supports the reference identification more firmly than the exact dial variant.
The 2024 salmon-dial model is reference 5236P-010. Patek Philippe’s model coverage describes an opaline rose-gilt dial and a brown alligator-leather strap. What the Patek Philippe 5236P does
The 5236P is a perpetual calendar: its calendar display accounts for variations in month length and leap years. On the 2024 5236P-010, apertures display the day, date and month, alongside day/night and leap-year indications; the dial also includes a moonphase display.
- Case: platinum, 41.3 mm in diameter.
- Movement: calibre 31-260 PS QL, with a platinum micro-rotor.
- Functions: hours, minutes, small seconds and perpetual calendar.
- Water resistance: 30 m.
These are specifications for the 5236P-010 as reported in Time+Tide’s model coverage, not measurements taken from the photograph.

What the photograph does—and does not—establish
The sighting report identifies a reference and says Zuckerberg confirmed that identification in a comment. The cropped image does not establish the salmon dial with certainty, nor does it establish when or how he acquired the watch. The cited coverage gives the model’s price as “On request”; it does not verify a current retail or resale price.
