Mark wakes at Devon’s home
Mark wakes at his sister Devon’s house and says, “She’s alive.” Devon first thinks he means her baby. But a wedding photograph prompts her to consider that he could mean Gemma, Mark’s wife, whose apparent death shaped his decision to take a severed job. The episode leaves the statement’s meaning unresolved rather than confirming Gemma is alive. (PopWire; The Pop Break)
Helena manages Lumon’s fallout
At Lumon, Helena handles the public consequences of the overtime incident. She meets with Cobel, who wants her old position on the severed floor back, but Helena says Milchick has taken over. Helena later records an apology video and reviews footage of her innie. The footage includes the innie’s kiss with Mark; The Pop Break reads Helena’s reaction as possibly reflecting longing or curiosity, but that is the reviewer’s interpretation, not a confirmed explanation of her motives. Milchick fires the innies’ allies
Milchick goes to Irving and Dylan to fire them. He then visits Mark and says Cobel has been fired. In telling Mark about Cobel, he exposes the connection Mark did not know: his neighbor, Mrs. Selvig, is the same person as Lumon manager Harmony Cobel. (PopWire)
Mark returns, and the episode ends with a question
Devon urges Mark to investigate what his innie meant by “she’s alive.” Mark rejects the idea that Gemma could be alive and leaves. Irving later makes a phone-booth call while Burt watches from a distance. Milchick tries to bring Mark back to Lumon with a pay increase and an appeal to the grief that led Mark to take the severed job. Mark returns, and the original Macrodata Refinement group follows. - Drama, Blu-Ray
At the end, Mark finds Cobel packing her car and asks whether she knows about Gemma. Cobel drives away without answering. The unanswered question—not a revelation about Gemma—is where the episode leaves him. (PopWire)
Why is it called “Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig”?
The title refers to Cobel’s “Mrs. Selvig” identity, the neighbor Mark has known outside Lumon. Milchick’s disclosure that Cobel was fired lets Mark connect that neighbor with the manager he knew at work. The goodbye becomes more than a name reveal when Mark confronts Cobel about Gemma and she leaves without responding. (PopWire)

What did Mark mean by “she’s alive”?
The episode links Mark’s words to the message his innie left after the overtime event, and Devon suspects he may mean Gemma. It does not establish that Gemma survived, explain how Mark’s innie would know, or settle whether the message refers to someone else. The story presents the possibility as a mystery for Mark to investigate, not an answer. (PopWire; The Pop Break)

Yes. After initially leaving, Mark accepts Milchick’s effort to bring him back, and the original MDR group returns as well. That return does not resolve the Gemma mystery: Mark’s final attempt to get an answer from Cobel ends with her driving away in silence. (PopWire)
