What did Julian say about Sean being there?
Julian singled out the person seated to his left: “And Especially to the guy sitting to my left… Having you there made my night & day… ❤️🙏🏻😘” The accompanying report identifies him as Sean Ono Lennon, Julian’s younger paternal half-brother. A separate retrospective report also recounts Sean’s attendance and Julian’s message (Beatles Magazine).
Why the brothers’ connection matters
Julian is the son of John Lennon and Cynthia Lennon; Sean is the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. In a 2010 CBS News interview, Sean said, “Julian is the reason I started playing music, actually,” and called Julian his hero: “But the truth is Julian was like my hero. He still is.” Julian recalled teaching Sean a George Michael song on guitar. These earlier remarks provide context for the affectionate birthday message, but they were not part of the 2023 post (CBS News).
