What is Terminator Zero about?
The series follows two connected timelines. In 2022, human survivors are fighting machines. Eiko travels back to 1997 to protect Malcolm Lee, a scientist building Kokoro as Skynet’s rise approaches. A Terminator is also sent to kill Malcolm, putting his three children in danger.

Kokoro’s role gives the familiar time-travel conflict a question beyond survival: whether a powerful artificial intelligence will judge humanity worth protecting. The story also centers on family and human agency. Creator and executive producer Mattson Tomlin described the franchise’s lasting appeal this way: “You strip away killer robots, you strip away Judgment Day, what do you have left? You have stories about families.”
Tomlin created the series, serving as showrunner and writer. Netflix describes it as a collaboration between Skydance and Japanese animation studio Production I.G.

How many episodes are in Season 1?
There are eight episodes, listed by Netflix as “Model 101” through “Model 108.” The season follows the characters’ arrival and competing missions, the activation of Kokoro, danger to Malcolm’s children, and the story’s endgame. Netflix Tudum provides official episode summaries.

Where can you watch Terminator Zero?
Netflix lists the complete season on its title page as a 2024 TV-MA anime series and offers offline downloads. The listing includes English, Japanese, German, French and Spanish (Latin America) audio, with audio description for some languages. Subtitle choices include English, Spanish (Latin America), Japanese, and simplified and traditional Chinese. Catalog availability and language options can vary by country and change over time, so check the Netflix listing in your region.
Will there be a Season 2?
No. On February 13, 2026, GamesRadar+ reported that Tomlin confirmed the series had been cancelled after one season. The outlet reported that Netflix offered two or possibly three additional episodes to wrap up the story, but Tomlin declined. He felt the existing finale left the story in a good place and had wanted to tell a longer story. This is Tomlin’s reported account, not an announcement of a new season or a separate statement from Netflix.

Is the Season 1 finale a stopping point?
Spoiler warning: This section discusses the finale’s conclusion.
Tomlin said he considered the finale a good place to leave the story, despite having hoped to continue it at greater length. The reported offer of extra episodes was not taken up, and no second season is confirmed.
