Brenden Rice is Jerry Rice’s son and a former college wide receiver who played at Colorado before transferring to USC. He finished his two seasons with the Trojans with 84 receptions, 1,402 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, then was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. His subsequent Chargers roster status has changed: the team waived him in 2025, and he was not named in its initial 2026 roster announcement.
Who is Brenden Rice?
Brenden Rice is a former college football wide receiver and the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. USC’s official football game notes identify Jerry Rice as his father. After the 2024 NFL Draft, Rice described his father’s message as, “Time to go to work,” according to NFL.com.
