It was a podcast remark—not something he said during the game—and it is distinct from a separate postgame field clip in which he also addressed her as “Tay.”
What did Travis Kelce say about Taylor Swift after the AFC Championship?
On the New Heights episode released January 31, Jason Kelce joked that Swift was the newest member of Chiefs Kingdom and had reached the Super Bowl in her “rookie year.” Travis followed with: “Shout out to Tay. Thanks for joining the team.” The Associated Press reported the exchange as a lighthearted acknowledgment of Swift attending and supporting the Chiefs. Associated Press

The remark came after Kansas City beat the Baltimore Ravens 17–10 on January 28, 2024, in Baltimore, earning a place in Super Bowl LVIII. Swift attended the game. Kelce’s podcast line was a postgame conversation, not commentary from the field or during play.
How the podcast remark differs from the field clip
A separate video captured Kelce embracing Swift on the field after the win. Entertainment Tonight transcribed him saying, “Tay, I’m going to enjoy with the guys,” and reported that he could also be heard saying “I love you” as they said goodbye. That exchange is separate from his later New Heights shout-out, which has different wording and context. Entertainment Tonight

Kelce had used “Tay” on an earlier podcast episode
The AFC Championship episode was not the first time Kelce used the nickname on New Heights. Us Weekly reported that on a November 29, 2023, episode, he said “Thanks, Tay” after Jason mentioned that Swift had liked a Chiefs post about Kelce’s receiving milestone. That was a different episode and a different exchange—not the AFC Championship remark. Us Weekly
