Poodle Moth was Chrissy Metz, the actor and singer known for playing Kate Pearson on This Is Us. She was unmasked on May 8, 2024, during The Masked Singer Season 11’s “Final Four” quarterfinal, after performing Jessie J’s “Price Tag.”

FOX reported that the four group champions faced off for the first time in the quarterfinal on “Final Four” night. Poodle Moth was eliminated, ending Metz’s run and sending the other three contestants onward. FOX’s May 8, 2024 report identifies Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg as the panelist who correctly guessed Metz.

Why did Chrissy Metz join the show?
Metz has described music as her first love. In a post-reveal interview with TV Insider, she said choosing songs was collaborative: the team considered songs meaningful to her, nostalgic choices and the episode’s theme. She also described the challenge of singing in costume amid the lights, audience and pressure of the competition.

Metz told the audience, “I think I’m still educating people on me being a singer,” as FOX reported. Her reveal put that musical side alongside the role many viewers know best: Kate Pearson on This Is Us. FOX notes the series earned Metz an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations.

McCarthy-Wahlberg’s guess was correct. TheWrap reported that other guesses included Shania Twain and Melissa McCarthy. Metz also told the outlet she had kept her participation under wraps from friends and family, joking, “I definitely lied!” when describing her denials.
