Spoilers: In the series finale, “The Last Word,” Jason Hayes survives the apparent funeral fake-out, walks his daughter Emma down the aisle, and remains with Bravo. Ray takes a Warfighter Health job, Sonny gives up his Trident after admitting he punched Decker, and Lisa advances to a D.C. role. The final scene sends a reconfigured Bravo Team on another mission, but the episode does not show how it ends.
Does Jason die in the SEAL Team finale?
No. The explosion during Bravo’s extraction cuts to black, making it seem as if the team may have been killed. The funeral scene that follows is a misdirect: it is Emma and Brad’s wedding, and Jason is alive to walk his daughter down the aisle.

The wedding gives Jason a family resolution rather than an exit from the story. He remains in the work, but the finale frames that choice alongside his continuing effort to live with its moral and psychological costs.
What happens to Bravo Team at the end of SEAL Team?
After Nozario is captured and Curtis is killed by Drew, Bravo returns to Vah Beach and is sent to Afghanistan. Jason takes a personal detour to seek peace with the wife of the first person he killed, accompanied by Ray and Sonny. During their extraction, Bravo comes under fire and shoulder-fired missiles; a large blast cuts the scene to black.

#1 Best Overall
The final beat is a new deployment, not a completed battle. Jason heads out with a reconfigured Bravo that includes Omar and Drew. The series leaves the mission’s outcome unknown: it does not establish that the team dies, wins, or is rescued.
What happens to Ray and Sonny?
Ray
Ray chooses a Warfighter Health position rather than the expected route to Spenser House.
Rank #2
Sonny
Sonny admits that he punched Decker and gives up his Trident. That clears the way for Lisa Davis’s promotion; Sonny did not turn in his medical kit to the Navy.
Where does Lisa end up?
Lisa takes a D.C.-based role as an admiral’s aide. The closing image places her with Sonny, while Jason deploys with the reformulated Bravo Team.

What does Jason’s ending mean?
Showrunner Spencer Hudnut described Mandy’s help as allowing Jason to see himself differently and understand that he was doing his job. Hudnut said Jason should not give up on himself, while recognizing that he still has work to do. The final assignment therefore leaves him active with Bravo rather than retired or dead, without suggesting that his struggle is over.
What does the finale leave unresolved?
The Afghanistan mission remains open-ended. Hudnut said the original plan, before the decision to end the series, had Jason and Mandy arriving in Afghanistan to begin Jason’s atonement journey, with a possible major problem for a potential eighth season. He also identified possible future stories about Omar reconciling with his son and Drew making amends with family. Those were ideas for a continuation, not events shown or resolved in the finale.

Hudnut said the creative team learned late that season seven would be the last, when the season was 90% written. He described having three acts of the finale in which to “land the plane”; the quick reversals and unresolved deployment reflect that compressed ending.
