How Strands works

Drag or tap connected letters to form words. When tapping, double-tap the final letter to submit a word. Theme words fill the board without overlapping and are highlighted blue. The spangram describes the theme, touches two opposite sides of the board, and is highlighted yellow; it can consist of two words. Find three words that are not theme answers to earn a hint. A hint reveals letters of a theme word, and if a hint is already active, it reveals their order. These rules are summarized in Parade’s guide and attributed there to The New York Times.
