The board’s 16 words are PARTY, NERD, MAD, STONE, DOT, DEN, PIP, STUDY, PHO, SPREE, SLEEP, PIT, RUNT, SAC, SEED, and REPEAT.

Why the date and timezone matter

“Today” depends on where you are: The New York Times Help Center says the daily Connections game is released at midnight in each player’s timezone. The July 12 date here refers to the 2026 puzzle; the July 12, 2025 board had different answers.

Can you play an older Connections puzzle?

The NYT Games Help Center says the Connections archive goes back to June 12, 2023 and is available to All Access and Games subscribers. Archived games count toward statistics, but not streaks; once completed, an archive puzzle cannot be replayed.
