What was the worldwide box office?
The AP reported Joker: Folie à Deux had accumulated $165.3 million worldwide through October 13, 2024. That is a cumulative total through the second weekend, not the amount earned worldwide during that weekend alone. The cited weekend reports do not establish a precise worldwide second-weekend gross or a worldwide week-over-week decline.
A later entry in The Numbers’ theatrical database lists a worldwide total of $207,500,287; the page was accessed October 4, 2026. That later cumulative figure is distinct from the $165.3 million reported during the October 2024 weekend coverage.

Calling the 81% fall a global drop would overstate what the reported figures show. The $7.1 million weekend gross and 81% comparison are domestic US/Canada numbers. The global figure available in the contemporaneous AP report is the cumulative $165.3 million through Sunday, not a weekend-only gross.
In the AP’s October 13, 2024 report, Comscore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian described the unusually varied weekend as “an outlier of a weekend if ever there was one.”
