Perth-based TikToker Emily Grosser and her dog Kenny went viral in a comic duet that cuts between Grosser’s expressions and Kenny gagging. PerthNow reported on 21 September 2024 that the clip had more than 22 million views and four million likes at the time; those are historical figures, not current TikTok counts.
What happens in the video?
PerthNow described the clip as a duet responding to a young man’s video about his teacher and grey sweatpants. Its edit alternates between Grosser making facial expressions and Kenny gagging, creating the comic reaction that drew viewers’ attention.
The report quoted Grosser describing the clip as Kenny “dry-reaching at this cringy a** dude.” Viewers also joked about Kenny; one selected comment called him “an Australian legend.” These are examples quoted by PerthNow, not a representative survey of audience opinion.
Why does Kenny gag?
Grosser told PerthNow that Kenny was about 17 and had “a lot of health issues.” She said one issue was that he dry-reaches if he runs too fast, and joked that if she waited long enough, it would happen on camera. This is her explanation as quoted by the outlet, not an independently established diagnosis.
