It was not about Jack Dodge, the contestant who won the season with his teammate. The available reporting offers limited personal context about Walworth, but does not establish a precise date or cause of death.
Where the tribute appeared
The card appeared at the close of “We’re in Miami Baby!”, Season 37, Episode 12. CBS lists the finale’s air date as May 15, 2025, and Paramount+ has an official listing for the episode.
The finale ended a season that CBS and Paramount described as spanning nine countries, 18 cities and more than 29,000 miles. Those are season-wide figures, not details about Walworth.
Who Jack Walworth was
Contemporary reporting identified Walworth as a longtime producer on The Amazing Race—a behind-the-scenes member of the production, not a contestant in Season 37. The end card’s first-name-only wording can be confusing because the finale also featured racer Jack Dodge.

What the dedication said
Distractify reported that the end card described the show’s subject as “our dear friend” and closed with “travel safe, Jack.” The report identifies Walworth as the person being honored; it does not name an individual who wrote or spoke those words.
What is—and is not—known about his death
A May 16, 2025 Distractify report said a post on Walworth’s family’s Facebook profile in December 2024 asked friends to share memories because he “hasn’t been well.” The article also said it found no online obituary confirming his passing. That is limited secondary reporting, not a full family statement or an official biography.

Jack Walworth and Jack Dodge are different people
Jack Dodge was one of Season 37’s winning racers; Walworth was a producer honored by the finale card. A recap by reality blurred explicitly distinguishes the two. The shared first name—not a connection between their roles—is the likely source of confusion.
