James Bond’s OMEGA screen story began in GoldenEye (1995), with a Seamaster Diver 300M. Since then, the watches associated with 007 have moved among the Diver 300M, Planet Ocean, Aqua Terra and Seamaster 300. The key distinction is that a watch worn in a film, a Bond-themed retail edition and a later design inspired by a Bond edition are not automatically the same watch.
Where the Bond and Seamaster partnership began
The Seamaster Diver 300M collection predates its film role: OMEGA says it launched in 1993, two years before Bond first wore one on screen. Its familiar design cues include a wave-patterned dial, skeletonized hands and a helium escape valve. The collection’s history and the film partnership’s history therefore start on different dates. 1995: GoldenEye
Pierce Brosnan’s Bond is identified by specialist sources as wearing the quartz Seamaster Professional Diver 300M, reference 2541.80. This is the first OMEGA watch in the Bond screen relationship—not the first year of the Diver 300M collection.

1997–2002: Brosnan’s later films
In Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002), the watch is associated with the automatic blue-dial Diver 300M, reference 2531.80. The change from the quartz 2541.80 to the automatic 2531.80 is an evolution within the same watch family.
2006: Casino Royale
Daniel Craig’s debut features two OMEGA models, according to specialist identifications: a Seamaster Planet Ocean, reference 2900.50.91, and a Seamaster Diver 300M, reference 2220.80.00. The pairing is a reminder that Bond’s watch is not always a single model even within one film. OMEGA’s 2006 press-kit reproduction records the public shorthand “the Bond watch,” but that phrase does not identify one permanent reference. Reproduced 2006 OMEGA press kit

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Black Dial Men's Watch 210.30.42.20.01.001
2008: Quantum of Solace
Bond is associated with a black-dial Seamaster Planet Ocean, commonly identified as the 42 mm reference 2201.50. OMEGA’s reproduced 2008 press kit called the black face a departure from the blue-dial Seamasters associated with Bond since 1995. That is the press kit’s characterization of the change, rather than a claim that every previous screen watch had an identical configuration. Reproduced OMEGA press kit for Quantum of Solace
2012: Skyfall
Specialist histories identify both a Planet Ocean and an Aqua Terra in the film. The Aqua Terra is a different Seamaster branch from the Diver 300M and Planet Ocean, broadening the screen story beyond dive-watch designs.

2015: Spectre
Spectre features a Seamaster Aqua Terra and a special-edition Seamaster 300, identified by a specialist retrospective as reference 233.32.41.21.01.001. The Seamaster 300 is its own family; it is not another name for the Diver 300M.
2021: No Time To Die
Bond wears the titanium Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, reference 210.90.42.20.01.001. OMEGA’s later product materials explicitly identify this 007 Edition as the watch worn in the film. OMEGA’s 2024 Diver 300M announcement
Film watches, Bond editions and inspired designs
“Bond watch” can refer to different things. A film-associated reference is a model identified as appearing on screen; a Bond-themed retail edition is a product made for sale with 007 design cues; and a later collection model may borrow design elements without being the movie watch. Treating all 007-marked or Bond-inspired Seamasters as screen props blurs these separate histories.
| Category | What it means | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Screen-associated watch | A model identified as worn in a particular film; specialist identification does not establish every prop used in production. | The titanium Diver 300M 007 Edition worn in No Time To Die. |
| Bond-themed retail edition | A commercial watch designed or marketed in connection with Bond, which need not be the exact model used on screen. | The 2022 60th-anniversary Diver 300M editions commemorating six decades of Bond films. |
| Design inspired by a Bond edition | A later collection watch drawing on a Bond edition’s design, without thereby becoming a film prop or Bond-branded edition. | The 2024 Diver 300M range, which OMEGA says takes inspiration from the No Time To Die 007 Edition. |
How the Bond design influence continued
2022: the 60th anniversary
OMEGA released Diver 300M anniversary editions in connection with six decades of Bond films. They are anniversary products, not the No Time To Die screen watch.

2024–2025: design cues enter the collection
OMEGA described its 2024 Diver 300M refresh as inspired by the 007 Edition worn in No Time To Die. The brand pointed to features including a domed sapphire crystal and, on selected versions, a mesh-bracelet style. The 2025 Bronze Gold and Burgundy range continues some design similarities. Inspiration describes a design relationship; it does not establish that these later models appeared in a film. 2024 range announcement and 2024 Titanium and Bronze Gold announcement
2026: a video-game collaboration, not a film appearance
In May 2026, OMEGA introduced a Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph made in collaboration with IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios for the video game 007 First Light. OMEGA’s announcement describes a 44 mm steel case, black ceramic bezel and Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, as well as a game-inspired NATO strap option. The brand called it the first chronograph in the Bond Seamaster line. It belongs to the wider Bond and OMEGA story, but it is a game tie-in—not a watch worn in a Bond film. How to identify the “Bond watch” you mean
Start with the connection you care about rather than the 007 branding alone:
- For a film-specific watch: name the film and reference, and distinguish specialist identification from an official production prop inventory.
- For the No Time To Die model: look for the titanium Diver 300M 007 Edition, reference 210.90.42.20.01.001.
- For a Bond-themed product: establish whether it is an anniversary or other retail edition, rather than assuming it is the screen-used configuration.
- For a current collection design: describe it as inspired by the 007 Edition where appropriate, not as the film watch itself.
On the secondary market, a reference number is only one part of an identification. Confirm the specific model, condition and authenticity; the presence of Bond-related design cues alone does not prove a watch’s screen provenance.
