That is the latest ownership evidence cited here; it confirms a reported sale, not who owns the property now.
What Magnolia said about the sale
In a June 9, 2024 report, Country Living quoted an unnamed Magnolia Network representative: “They bought the Lakehouse with the intention of flipping it, and they have sold it.” The statement directly answers whether the Gaineses still owned the home at that time: they did not.
Realtor.com also reported in June 2024 that the house had sold, corroborating the sale coverage. Neither report establishes whether the property changed hands again afterward.
Which house was featured in the spin-off?
Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse followed the Gaineses’ renovation of a Lake Waco property for the tenth anniversary of Fixer Upper. Magnolia describes the home as built in 1965, with Spanish Revival and mid-century modern influences. The official design account says the team consulted original blueprints and photographs while working to uncover the house’s original design during more than eight months of renovation.

Country Living described it as a 5,100-square-foot, five-bedroom, five-bathroom lakefront home with a pool. Those are reported property details, not independently verified ownership records.
What the sale reports do—and do not—establish
The clearest evidence is Magnolia’s representative’s statement, reported by Country Living. Realtor.com provides a second contemporary report that the home sold. Neither source names a later owner, and the evidence available here does not establish the current deed or any transfer after the 2024 sale reports. Accordingly, the supported answer is that the Gaineses had sold the house by June 2024—not a claim about its present-day owner.
